And now, Apple has added the ultra-portable 7.9-inch iPad mini and the ultra-productive 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Moreover, we have five different sizes stretched across five different price points to choose from. This includes Entry-level 10.2-inch iPad 8, mid-range 7.9-inch iPad mini 5, 10.9-inch iPad Air 4, and high-end 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros, with different colour, storage, and cellular options for each. Here is the best iPad, for you to choose from:

The iPad Flow

  • If you want to carry it anywhere and can use it for almost anything. Then the new 10.9-inch iPad Air 4, starting at $599 is the best choice for you.
  • But, if you are on a budget for an iPad, then you have the 10.2-inch iPad (2020), starting at $329.
  • If you want to focus on portability and don’t have any problem in compromising with the screen size, then the 7.9-inch iPad mini 5, starting at $399 is for you.
  • Moreover, If you are looking for more power and performance but also want it to be portable, then the newly redesigned 11-inch iPad Pro (2020), starting at $799 is just for you.
  • And if you demand not only power and performance but want the biggest screen, you can get the newly redesigned 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2020), starting at $999.

iPad Air 4: So close to pro

If you are someone who just wants an iPad or a newbie to tablets or just need an upgrade from your older tablet, then iPad Air 4 is best for you. You can do everything with this, from reading to watching to communicating to working to playing. While deciding to but the iPad Air, you would first look at its design. It has the flat sides of the current Pro series and the near-edge-to-edge display surrounded by even bezels. Although the Home button is gone, Touch ID remains in the sleep/wake button near the corner of the device. Also, it has USB-C, instead of the Lightning connector as the single physical port on the tablet.

With a 10.9-inch, wide gamut, Retina display, with TrueTone ambient colour temperature matching, it is slightly bigger than the original. Moreover, it has Apple’s brand new A14 Bionic chipset, two stereo speakers, a 7-megapixel, 1080p front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 12 megapixel, wide colour f/1.8 rear camera that’s capable of recording 4K video at 24fps, 30fps, and 60fps.

You can choose from Silver, Space Gray, Rose Gold, Green, and Sky Blue. Also, you will get an option of 64GB or 264GB of storage, and with just Wi-Fi or with Wi-Fi and cellular, so you can connect or share that connection from anywhere. It is compatible with the second-generation Apple Pencil, Logitech Crayon, Apple Smart Keyboard Folio, and Magic Keyboard. This is just a box with everything and is one of the best, starting at $599.

iPad (2020): The budget option

If you are on a budget but want a good iPad for yourself, this is the best option for you. If you’re a student or a teacher or just want to work and play with part-time, then go for this.

The design for the new iPad is the same as the previous model. Moreover, the screen is smaller, with standard colour and no TrueTone. Thus you will get a slightly blueish or yellowish-white depending on the lighting, and non-laminated, but it’s every bit as high resolution. Although it is smaller, it’s slightly heavier than Air. With the older A12 Bionic processor, a Lightning connector, Touch ID, two stereo speakers, the new has a 1.2 megapixel, 720p front-facing camera, and an 8 megapixel, standard colour, f/2.4, also 1080p rear camera.

You can choose from silver, space gray, or gold. Also, you will get an option for 32 or 128GB of storage, and with just Wi-Fi or with Wi-Fi and cellular. It’s compatible with the 1st generation Apple Pencil, Logitech Crayon, and the Apple Smart Keyboard, as well. It is pocket friendly, starting at just $329.

The ultralight: iPad Mini 5

If you want a smaller version of iPad Air, which you can carry in your pocket anywhere easily, then the iPad mini 5 is for you. It has the same wide gamut as the iPad Air 3. Same is the case with the Retina display, Apple’s A12 Bionic chipset, 3GB of memory, a Lightning connector and Touch ID, two stereo speakers. Also, a 7 megapixel, 1080p front-facing camera, and an 8 megapixel, wide colour f/2.4, also 1080p rear camera.

You can choose from silver, space grey, or gold. Also, you can choose from 64 or 264GB of storage, and with just Wi-Fi or with Wi-Fi and cellular. Moreover, it is compatible with the 1st generation Apple Pencil and Logitech Crayon, so you can bring out the artist inside you and draw, markup, take notes, and precision editing.

Although it doesn’t have a Smart Connector for your Smart Keyboard, you can use any standard Bluetooth keyboard. It has all the previous Air tech and performance with a 7.9-inch display. Thus, you get a miniature version of the new iPad Air, starting at $399, one of the best.

iPad Pro (2020): The Powerhouse

For a professional who needs an iPad for work purpose, then the iPad Pro (2020) is for you. Even if you’re a pro photographer, videographer, audio producer or engineer, designer or musician, and want an iPad that comes in handy in your work then this is the best option.

In terms of design, its same like the old iPad Pro, that is, bezel-free with Face ID. So there’s no Touch ID sensor like the other models. But remember that authentication for most things on the iPad Pro doesn’t require additional action. Moreover, you don’t get the option for the gold colour in this series.

But don’t worry, you still have a ProMotion display which dynamically ramps down to save power and up to 120Hz. You will get the A12Z Bionic system-on-a-chip with one additional graphics processing core. Moreover, it has a new thermal system, which allows the chip to sustain higher performance for a longer duration. But the good news doesn’t end here, all of its models, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, have 6GB of RAM. Earlier, it was only restricted to the 1TB model of the 2018 iPad Pro. Also, you will get four speakers, and now two cameras, a 12-megapixel wide-angle unit at f/1.8, and a 10-megapixel ultra-wide camera at f/2.4. These cameras will allow you to record videos at 4K at 60 frames-per-second. Also, you will get the TrueDepth camera on the front that makes up the Face ID apparatus.

It also has the LiDAR, Light Detection and Ranging, in the camera module. With this sensor you can scan the environment around you (up to five meters away) to aid in augmented reality applications. It allows for better placement of AR objects and features like object occlusion. This allows virtual items to behave realistically and remain in place when behind real-world items. You can get the option Wi-Fi or cellular, and it supports Apple’s new, second-generation Pencil, which connects magnetically to the side of the iPad Pro and charges inductively.

With the simple Smart Keyboard that protects the back of the pad. Moreover, you get to choose from 11-inches which is similar to 10.9-inch Air, and 12.9-inches, which is the biggest canvas you can currently get, but, thanks to the new design, doesn’t feel that way anymore. It starts from $799 for 11-inches and $999 for 12.9-inches.

Conclusion- Best iPad

While buying an iPad you need to first ask yourself a few questions. What type of use you want from your iPad, which size is comfortable for you and other specifications you want in it. Thus if you want something portable which you can take anywhere and work easily on it, then the 7.9-inch iPad mini 5 is for you, starting at $399. But if you are a professional who wants to use the iPad for your work, then iPad Pro (2020), starting at $799 is for you. But, if you’re still not sure, just get the new 10.2 iPad 8 and enjoy.
