The $36.09 Roccat Burst Core is essentially what you’d expect from a budget gaming mouse. The additional features function satisfactorily, and the auxiliary is lighter than it appears to be. Its performance is also quite unpredictable, and it’s more functional than comfy. Although the Burst Core is an economical PC gaming accessory, it’s difficult to escape the impression that there really are better mice in the very same price range.

You will like the Burst Core’s reasonable cost, configurable buttons and DPI, and unique “covered honeycomb” concept overall. It simply didn’t function very well with the configuration at the same time. It’s difficult to suggest a product as the finest gaming mouse if it occasionally fails to accurately process commands in the middle of a massive session. However, the Roccat Burst Core still merits a position on the list of the best inexpensive gaming mice because to its reasonable pricing and generally solid performance.

Price and Availability of Roccat Burst Core

The Roccat Burst Core is a affordable mouse but from its price the final verdict will be the same as now, it has configurable buttons, DPI, and a unique concept. It comes with the price of $36.09 in US (United States) and £23.47 in UK (United Kingdom). Also, it is available in all third party apps like Amazon, eBay, and much more.

It comes with 2 color White and Black, you can buy any color, whichever you want or you like.

Design

The Roccat Burst Core can also be described  as “plain” in terms of gaming mouse. The mouse lacks practically all flourishes and novel touches, which is to be look forward from this type of accessory. The Roccat Burst Core has 2 polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) cleats on the bottom and a simple black or white chassis with a palm rest that seems to be slightly curve. You can see  Little hexagonal patterns on both sides of the mouse, although neither side is tactile. This error causes a decrease in comfort and grip.

A clickable scroll wheel, a left button, a right button, as well as a dots-per-inch (DPI) intensity adjustment are all available as buttons. On the side, there are two more tiny thumb buttons. Everything is accessible and delivers a nice click in the layout, which is good.

The Burst Core’s design doesn’t really have any drawbacks, but it also doesn’t really have any advantages either. The gadget is a little low to the ground even with the curving palm rest. It’s little too flat for players with small hands and slightly too small for those with huge hands.

The mouse’s “solid honeycomb shell,” on the other hand, is an intriguing concept. The SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless, for instance, is a typical “honeycomb” mouse, but the Burst Core features a solid shell atop a compact honeycomb design on the inside. This decreases the mouse’s weight while preventing the pain and sanitary problems that honeycomb mice may have.

Features

To its credit, once the Roccat Swarm software is available, you can achieve a lot well with Roccat Burst Core. You may download firmware, alter DPI, rearrange buttons, and experiment with RGB lighting with this suite. However, the Swarm program itself is a bit all over the place because updates sometimes don’t download correctly and because you can only have five separate software profiles open at once. (Most rival systems only support hardware profiles; they don’t limit software profiles.)

Another problem is how unnecessary the RGB lighting seems. A little band around the outside of the scroll wheel is the sole place that has LEDs. At least when you’re playing, you can see this, but it’s so subtle it hardly registers. I wonder if removing that may have made the mouse a little less expensive.

Buttons may also be reset, DPI levels can be preset, and a special button can be used to change DPI instantly. The Burst Core will work if you don’t require your gaming mouse to perform any particularly complex tasks.

Performance

The Roccat Burst Core’s performance is heavily reliant on the type of surface you have, which is the main complaint of all the users. The Burst Core just does not work well with your hard mouse pad due to the optical sensors and the PTFE feet. The pointer would hop all the time, sometimes to a place halfway across the screen, whether you are playing a video game or browsing Windows 11. Gaming and productivity chores become essentially impossible.

On a wooden table or a soft mouse pad, the problem was not nearly as serious. Even so, You can’t promise that now the Roccat Burst Core will perform as expected with any specific arrangement since it just doesn’t work well with all types of surfaces. Additionally, the lack of a surface leveling option in the Swarm program makes the problem worse.

The Roccat Burst Core will function adequately in the game after you will place it on a hardwood surface and was free of the cursor’s erratic hops. The mouse functions well when You will test it with Doom Eternal, Age of Empire IV, Cyberpunk 2077, and Final Fantasy XIV. You will have no issue dealing with bands of medieval troops, shooting down demons, exploring a futuristic metropolis, or teleporting from town to town. However, the type of surface the Burst Core is on has a significant impact on how well it performs.

The Roccat burst core—is it a reliable mouse?

The cable gaming mouse from ROCCAT, the Burst Core, is superb. It boasts a simple layout, a little amount of RGB, as well as an ambidextrous form akin to the ROCCAT Burst Pro. It boasts a superbly low click speed, a light weight, and a sturdy structure.

Is there software on the roccat burst core?

You may modify the default settings, including DPI and scroll speed, illumination, button assignments, and more complex settings, such polling rate or angle snapping, in our Swarm program to fit your preferences and routines.

Conclusion:

Major brands’ cable gaming mouse may cost up to $90. It’s important to acknowledge the existence of a suitable substitute for under $35, as well as the Roccat Burst Core is one such option. Even so, it’s neither the only or the best option available at this pricing. Available at $30 each are the SteelSeries Rival 3 as well as HyperX Pulsefire Core. Each of these mice are more effective and more attractive.

The Burst Core is worth having a look if you own other Roccat gear or have a preference for the brand or company because to its utility and simplicity. Be mindful that you might wish to get a soft mouse pad to go with it.
