OPPO Reno 8 Pro: With Beautiful design and reliable rapid charging!

Share

Oppo has updated its popular Reno series with two new models. Reno 8 comes in two flavors: OPPO Reno 8 regular and OPPO Reno 8 pro. Look at the specs; it nearly looks like any other inexpensive flagship phone with a fantastic display, fast charging support, and a capable chipset. On the other hand, the Pro model goes further by adding the company’s proprietary MariSilicon X, which is also included in the company’s most expensive Find X5 series.

The OPPO Reno 7 Pro 5G was an improvement over the Reno 6 Pro. But in that, it had a flat display, dual speakers, and better camera sensors, all wrapped up in a high-end design with a stylish notification LED strip around the camera module. OPPO has released the Reno 8 5G and Reno 8 Pro 5G. It boasts a new design, comparable cameras with minor upgrades, and a more modern CPU.

Features and specs:

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro is the 1st phone to include the Mari Silicon X chipset, which enhances mobile photography. The Oppo Find X5 Pro was the first phone to use this chipset, which sadly never made it to the nation.
It boasts a Dimensity 8100-Max SoC under the hood, up to 12GB RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. With a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP camera with an Ultra-Wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera, it features a triple camera configuration on the back.

Design & Build Quality

When holding the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G, it is immediately apparent that it is a high-end product. Prefers blocky, but not necessarily hefty, gadgets. With that, Reno 8 Pro 5G fits the bill. It is outstanding how much is packed into 183 grams with flat sides and a glass sandwich shape. However, compared to the competition, it is a little bulkier, which may turn off users searching for a lighter tablet.

The 6.7-inch screen of the smartphone makes one-handed use challenging due to its size. You will mainly utilize both hands, especially if you have small hands.

However, the smartphone has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 back that shields it from little dings. If you use the gadget without the TPU case, it doesn’t sustain any harm.

Display

  • The OPPO Reno 8 Pro 5G has a 6.70-inch, 120Hz AMOLED screen with 1080 x 2400 pixels, 950 nits of brightness, a 10-bit panel, and support for HDR10+.
  • Although the device supports HDR10+, it also supports Widevine L1, which means it is compatible with FHD+ material on OTT services.
  • Additionally, a fingerprint sensor integrated into the display functions well.
  • Additionally, it only has a 120 Hz touch sampling rate, which is strange considering that this is a 46 kHz smartphone and that even 360 Hz would have been a weak point.

Oppo’s ColorOS 12.1, based on Android 12, powers the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G. Oppo guarantees two years of Android upgrades & 4 years of security fixes with the Reno 8 Pro 5G, a beautiful feature.

Performance

Additionally, OPPO incorporated 12 5G bands, ensuring that you may utilize the 5G network whenever available. This time is a little different since OPPO has worked with BGMI. Most mobile game developers geared their games for Qualcomm CPUs in the past.

Camera

There are no Hasselblad cameras this time; you cannot enjoy all those Hasselblad magic here!

You can play BGMI at 90 Hz & other games at 60 Hz. Thus, the answer is yes. The chipset is strong enough to perform practically all jobs, so there won’t be any issues in day-to-day life. However, for gaming, OPPO has done enough since teaming with BGMI.

In addition to a 16MP front-facing camera, the OPPO Reno 8 Pro 5G has a 50MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The rear cameras can capture films at 4K (30 frames per second) and 1080p (30/60 frames per second), but the front cameras can only capture 1080p footage.

Battery life

The OPPO Reno 8 Pro 5G has a 4,500 MAh battery life with 80W wired fast charging capabilities, which can charge the handset 100% in only 28 minutes.
Battery life varies from user to user, just like anything else.
The battery life of the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max is one day because of its battery efficiency. Additionally, the 80W rapid charging is quite helpful, but remember that other chargers cannot charge the Reno 8 Pro 5G at 80W, so always carry that cord and charger.
Similar to the Reno 7 Pro 5G, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G’s capacity has a 4,500mAh Battery, but it charges more quickly at 80W. Oppo claims the Reno 8 Pro can charge 50% in 11 minutes.

Are Oppo smartphones equal to Samsung’s?

Even though they both significantly have powerful CPUs, benchmark testing generally indicates that the Snapdragon 888 outperforms the Exynos 2100 in raw power. Samsung has lagged with its semiconductors in recent years, a discrepancy that, although not very large, is still present.

Is Oppo’s camera superior to the iPhone’s?

The OPPO Find X3 Pro & the iPhone 12 Pro Max are highly comparable. The OPPO has greater fabric detail, and the iPhone has a more vibrant color even though it was a very close call, with the Find X3 Pro trailing very closely.

Is it worthwhile to get an Oppo Reno 8 Pro?

No, the OPPO Reno 8 Pro 5G is not worth purchasing because of alternatives like the Redmi K50i 5G. And RealMe GT Neo 3 5G are available for less money while still providing good value for the amount that they are asking.

Conclusion

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G proves to be a fantastic gadget due to its performance and overall value. For both progressive and active users, this gadget performs effectively.
Extra credit goes to the Reno 8 Pro’s Dual-LED flash. In addition to being brilliant, the circular arrangement of the LEDs is parallel to one another. The addition of a bit of ring light makes for a brilliant torch.
