A Black + Decker 8 Cup Food Processor seems to be a low-cost machine that is a good entry-level option for anyone looking to purchase their first food processor. It has a lightweight and compact design and only one power setting, making it simple to use. This food processor quickly sliced carrots as well as mixed dough, indicating that it is a good buy that can help with a variety of food preparation tasks.

As you’ll see in the Black + Decker 8 Cup Food Processor, removing the blade is a little tricky. However, because of its overall design and affordability, it remains one of the best food processors.

Walmart sells the Black + Decker 8 Cup Food Processor for $42.25. It comes in a black finish and comes with a two-year limited warranty.

Design

Design

A Black + Decker 8 Cup Food Processor has a sleek, modern design that measures 11.26 x 7.8 x 15.67 inches. With a weight of only 5.3 pounds, it’s simple to select up and store not in use. It emerges with hard plastic feet intended to secure this to the counter, but even when moistened, those plastic ones did not adhere. As a result, during some of the more rigorous examines, such as mixing cookie dough, this food processor shifts slightly.

This machine has a simple design, which has advantages. Because of the rounded edges & curves, wiping down the base is simple. Operation is simple, with only an On/Off/Pulse button, although the manual would provide specific instructions, the device is easy to use.

The simplicity of the design has some drawbacks. Although the machine has two barge buttons that are simple to use, it only has one speed. It has a 450-watt motor and performs admirably but there is no way to adjust this same power when needed apart from a pulse option.

The accessories included are basic & limited. A stainless chopping blade but a reversible slicing & shredding disc are included with the machine. There is also no way to change the thickness of the slice or grate. A dough blade & multiple or adaptable thickness slicing blades would’ve been useful additions.

Performance

Black + Decker 8 Cup Food Processor: Perfoormance

This Black + Decker 8 Cup Food Processor performs admirably, more successful than others. It easily sliced potato and a carrot, but due to the small feed chute, users had to quarter a russet potato. The potato is sliced in 10 seconds, as well as the carrot is sliced in 6 seconds. The procedure is simple, and the thickness of the slices was consistent.

Similarly, grating cheese is a breeze. In just eight seconds, the machine grats a 13-pound block of cheddar cheese. The cheese grate consistently.

While the machine lacks a dough blade, the slicing blade thoroughly mixes cookie dough. Even after you added the flour, the machine never strained, and the dough fit into the eight-cup bowl.

You also put the machine through its paces by chopping an onion. It ends up taking 7 seconds, and while the eventual results in pieces are almost always consistent, there have been a few larger chunks left.

When users put this food processor by pureeing hummus, it struggled. The process took considerably longer than on other machines, and despite running the food processor for 8 minutes, the puree was never truly smooth. This is one case where having the possibility to expand the machine’s power would have been beneficial.

The machine produces 91.5 dBA, making this one of the noisier food processors. The Hamilton Beach Bowl Scraper ten Cup produces the most noise, measuring 93.9 dBA. A Cuisinart 14 Cup Custom Food Processor is the quietest, with a noise level of only 65.2 decibels.

Ease of use and cleaning

Ease of use and cleaning

Whereas other food processors seem to have more choices, accessories, & controls, the simplicity of this machine’s design makes it simple to use. You can use it without having to read the instructions, making it an attractive option for anyone looking in their first food processor.

The rounded design & curves of the machine make it simple to clean. There are no crevices or dirt traps, as well as the bowl, can easily be removed from the base. The lid is also simple to attach and remove because it aligns naturally & requires little force to lock on and loosen. Dishwasher safe is most of the removable parts.

One design feature, however, helps cleaning the bowl & blade difficult. The blade becomes stuck to the spindle and is difficult to remove. It was made more difficult after you mixed the cookie dough — there’s no way to grip and remove the blade effectively.

This design serves a purpose; it prevents you from accidentally trying to pull off the blade when emptying the bowl with a spatula. Unfortunately, it make removing the blade so difficult that you had to fill the bowl with heated water & partially wash this by hand before you could get enough hold to remove the blade. This is dangerous and adds time to the cleaning procedure.

Conclusion

Black + Decker 8 Cup Food Processor comes at a reasonable cost of less than $50. It lacks some of the features of other models, especially in terms of a number of accessories & different power settings, but the machine’s simple design makes it simple to use.

Most including features like slicing & mixing dough reveal that the food processor performs admirably. It performs poorly when pureeing hummus, but it is still a well-rounded device capable of handling lighter food preparation tasks.

While the blade’s locking feature makes removal difficult, this food processor provides good value for money. This model from Black + Decker isn’t as versatile or consistent in its performance as our winner, the Magimix Food Processor 14 Cup, but it’s about 8 times cheaper so you have to pay for the difference.

If you want a food processor with more attachments, consider the Ninja Professional Food Processor, which comes with a grating disc, chopping blade, crinkle cut disc, reversible slicing and shredding disc, and dough blade, disc storage case, and a recipe booklet.
