Games are better than ever right now, with gorgeous open landscapes, life-like AI, and gameplay that can keep you entertained for countless hours, but what if you don’t have a PC that can run them? After all, not everyone can afford an RTX 3080-enabled gaming PC to run the greatest PC games—and even if they can, getting your hands on a GPU right now is more difficult than ever. Previously, these players were compelled to run the games at sub-optimal settings or risk being left behind entirely, but that is no longer the case. Nvidia’s cloud-based Nvidia GeForce Now has the potential to transform gaming on a PC, Mac, Android, or iOS device, particularly with the release of the new top-end RTX 3080 tier.

What is Nvidia GeForce Now?

What is Nvidia GeForce Now?

Before we get into how you can play the newest AAA-rated games on any PC, regardless of its capabilities, let’s first define Nvidia’s cloud-based GeForce Now for PC and Mac.

Nvidia GeForce Now first announced at CES 2017, allows gamers to broadcast games produced remotely, eliminating a need to be concerned about local PC requirements — all you need is a fast enough internet connection! Nvidia recommends download rates of 25-50mbps, however, it can work with as little as a 15Mbps link. Unlike Google Stadia, which requires you to buy games from the system store, GeForce Now lets you play titles you own from Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Uplay.

This allows users to play with their friends as normal, without the need for anyone to sign up for yet another online shop in order to maintain playing together. Some publishers prohibit the usage of their games via GeForce Now, so there are absences in the GeForce Now library, but the firm continually adds new titles to keep it fresh and exciting.

As previously stated, the games are produced remotely at one of Nvidia’s 20 server sites spread across Europe and the USA, and the graphics result is comparable to that of an elevated gaming PC. Indeed, if you choose the Priority Plan or the enhanced RTX 3080 Plan, you will be able to play games with true ray-tracing using improved RTX servers. When streaming via the free and Priority levels, you’re limited to 1080p@60Hz, but if you upgrade to the high-end RTX 3080 tier, you can increase that to 1440p@120fps on compatible devices, or up to 4K on Nvidia’s Shield TV.

How much does Nvidia GeForce Now cost?

Such a fantastic cloud-based game streaming platform must be somewhat pricey, right? Wrong. During the closed beta, the service was free to use, and Nvidia GeForce Now has kept that trend going with a free-to-use plan alongside this same premium, but still budget-friendly, Priority Plan (formerly known as the Founding members Plan) and the top-end RTX 3080 tier.

The Free plan

The Free plan is restricted to 1-hour-long streaming, and while you may leave and rejoin immediately, you must join a queue to recover access. You can still play RTX games like Metropolis Exodus. But you won’t be able to activate RTX if you’re on the free plan.

The Priority plan

The Priority plan, which costs £8.99/$9.99 per month after a £4.99/$4.99 Founders plan, includes six-hour-long streaming sessions, and RTX 20 Series support in supported games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Metro Exodus. Also priority access to the service during peak moments.

It’s worth noting that if you were on the early bird Pioneers’ plan. You’ll continue to pay the lower £4.99/$4.99 monthly charge under the Nvidia GeForce Now Founders for Life feature only new subscribers will pay the higher fee. However, it does not apply if u switch to the top-tier RTX 3080 tier.

The RTX 3080 plan

The RTX 3080 tier is the most recent GeForce Now tier, providing the greatest cloud gaming experience imaginable. The centerpiece is, of course, exclusive access to machines using the top-tier RTX 3080 GPUs that enable ray-tracing as well as the previously stated higher 1440p/4K resolutions. But there are other advantages as well, such as extended 8-hour play sessions.

It’s now accessible in the US and Europe, but unlike the other levels. Also, it was only available in 6 increments at £89.99/$99.99 each month. Regardless of the plan, you select, go to the GeForce Now website to sign and download the application for your preferred platform.

Conclusion

As long as your internet access can handle it, playing games at any plan tier is a truly good experience. While needing to carry your own games is a disadvantage when compared to other cloud gaming choices. Nvidia GeForce Now overall quality and reliability are remarkable. They have such a Free option, so give it a shot maybe you can if you’ve had difficulties finding a new graphics card in the previous year.
