The OnePlus 10T was released recently and entered a very competitive industry. This post will contrast it with one of its most prominent competitors. We’ll pit the OnePlus 10T vs. Google Pixel 6. These smartphones will compete for the same sorts of people. They are both enthusiast gadgets to some extent. However, they also have comparable price tags and sizes. They’re both considered high-end phones, albeit not the finest their respective brands offer.
Despite having a slower SoC and charging than the OnePlus 10T, the OnePlus 10 Pro is still the company’s flagship. Although identical to the Pixel 6, the Google Pixel 6 Pro is the company’s flagship device. But the OnePlus 10T & Pixel 6 are only a step behind, and they’re even better in some respects.
What will you see here?
Price & Availability
Price Comparison: The Pixel 6 starts at $599 and comes with 8GB of RAM plus two storage options. The OnePlus 10T’s similar setup costs $649. While $100 gives you double the storage on the Pixel 6, the same amount gets you double the storage & RAM on the 10T.
Colors Comparison: The OnePlus 10T is available in Jade Green and Moonstone Black for those who want a more subdued aesthetic. The Pixel 6 is available in Stormy Black, Sorta Seafoam, & Kinda Coral, with dual shades available on all models.
OnePlus 10T vs. Google Pixel 6 – Design
With its lower display bezels and boxy Pixel 6 design, the OnePlus 10T is the more appealing phone on the outside. However, at the rear, it’s a toss-up between the OnePlus camera merged with the side frame and the Pixel 6’s unconventional camera “strip.”
The Pixel is easier to grip and operate with one hand because it is smaller. Also, the raised camera strip provides an excellent area to push your index finger against. The raised camera section on the OnePlus 10T houses three cameras and a flash. However, Google’s strip has two cameras and a flash, giving it a somewhat barren appearance in contrast.
The 10T comes in two colors: Moonstone Black and Jade Green, which, despite their stark differences in texture and appearance, are achieved by employing a glass back. The Pixel 6 comes in three hues – Kinda Coral, Sorta Seafoam, and Stormy Black – and features a glass back with a wireless charging coil inside. Unlike the OnePlus 8T, which only charges with the enormous 150W brick.
Display
Once you turn to the front, everything is nearly identical. Both have punch-hole selfie cameras in the center. Both panels are Full HD+ with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The OnePlus 10T has a 120Hz refresh rate on its 6.7-inch AMOLED display, but the Pixel 6 has a 90Hz refresh rate on its 6.4-inch OLED screen.
On the other hand, The Pixel 6 has one of the lowest Deltas, which is near-perfect white balance and brightness comparable to the OnePlus 10T. As though compensating for the OnePlus phone’s greater refresh rate.
Both displays are excellent in general. To be honest, most people will not find anything wrong with any of them. They’re both sharp enough and have a smooth feel to them. They’re both highly vibrant and quite bright. The OnePlus 10T’s panel felt easier to use outside in direct sunlight. However, there are many better choices available. Both screens have great viewing angles. So neither of them has anything wrong with them.
Cameras
The camera contrasts between these 2 phones are likely most evident. The OnePlus 10T features a triple-camera array on the back, including a 50MP primary lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro photographer. There is also a 16MP front-facing camera. Unlike the OnePlus 10 Pro, the 10T lacks Hasselblad-tuned cameras. The primary camera takes excellent photos. The ultimate product, however, does not appear as beautiful as the OnePlus 10 Pro. Similarly, the 8MP ultrawide camera takes good images, but the 2MP macro camera is more for show. There’s Super HDR for high-contrast images and Nightscape 2.0 for better nighttime captures.
The Google Pixel 6 has the same 50MP primary and 12MP wide-angle lenses as the Pixel 6 Pro and an 8MP front camera. With Action Pan and Long Exposure camera settings and the option to employ Magic Eraser in Google Photos, the primary camera produces exceptional results. Google’s digital zoom is adequate, allowing you to photograph at up to 7x magnification, and the selfie camera likewise produces excellent pictures. The Pixel 6’s cameras readily snap stunning shots in any light, at any time of day.
Video Recording
The OnePlus 10T can record 4K video at 30/60 frames per second & 1080p video at 30/60 fps. The Pixel 6 is capable of the same modes and 240fps slo-mo video.
Does the OnePlus 10T have the worst camera system?
Not. When compared side by side with the Pixel 6, there’s little doubt which one we’d suggest to photographers. The Pixel 6.
Specifications & Performance
The flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU powers the OnePlus 10T, which can be combined with up to 16 GB of RAM. If you preorder the OnePlus 10T in the United States, you will also receive a free upgrade to the 16GB/256GB model. On the software front, we got Android 12, with OnePlus’ OxygenOS 12.1 layer on top.
The Pixel 6 is powered by Google’s Tensor processor and comes standard with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. While both smartphones run their light Android interfaces well, the OnePlus 10T currently has the most powerful Android chipset. However, Google’s Tensor will have a difficult time, especially in gaming or 5G connection, where Qualcomm has no equivalent in terms of bands and filters.
Battery Life
The OnePlus 10T has a large 4,800mAh battery that supports up to 150W SuperVOOC charging. Speeds in the United States are limited to 125W since most outlets cannot support 150W charging, yet traveling with a phone purchased in the United States will get you 150W charging overseas. Whether charging at 150W or 125W, you should anticipate getting from 0% to 100% battery in around 20 minutes. It’s pretty stunning in practice.
The Pixel 6 features a slightly smaller 4,614mAh battery, which should last you through an ordinary day with some juice remaining in the tank. After three hours of screen-on time, we were left with about 60% battery life. Although there is only 30W charging available, you do get 21W wireless charging & reverse wireless charging as a pleasant addition. Although, there is no charger included in the packaging.
OnePlus 10T vs. Google Pixel 6 – Software
The 10T and Pixel 6 both come with Android 12, but their approaches to the OS are considerably different. OxygenOS 12.1 substantially customizes Android 12 on the OnePlus 10T. OxygenOS was formerly acclaimed as one of the most significant third-party Android interfaces available, but with the current 12.1 version, it has degraded into a poorer condition. It’s a husk of what OxygenOS used to be, with missed alerts, uneven touch response, and significant aesthetic inspiration from ColorOS.
The Pixel 6 offers one of the most incredible Android experiences today. It’s quick, clean, and packed with valuable features. Do you want your phone to identify and display the song playing in the background automatically? That is something the Pixel 6 is capable of. Do you want the Google Assistant to keep your place in line while you make a phone call? It also does that.
How many years will Pixel 6 last?
Pixels guarantees software/security upgrades for three years on its smartphones.
Conclusion
While the features of the OnePlus 10T & Google Pixel 6 are relatively similar, as expected considering their different price ranges, the newer phone is unquestionably speedier, thanks to its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and 20-minute charging time. Despite both having 50MP primary cameras, the Pixel 6 has the advantage in photography.
In other words, if gaming performance, record charging rates, and a more prominent display with a smoother refresh rate are more essential to you than improved dynamic range or night hues in your images, go for the OnePlus 10T, which can now be acquired with a free storage increase to boot.
