The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 must fill some giant shoes after the excellent Galaxy Z Fold 3. However, there is still potential for development since the foldable phone formula has yet to be mastered.

While speculations about the Z Fold 4 are starting to circulate, a lot still don’t know. So, we compiled all of the leaks and speculations heard so far and chimed in with our opinions on what the Z Fold 4 has to expand on if Samsung wants to keep the best folding phone title with its next version.

Potential release date

Potential release date

Both leaks and informed forecasts agree on the expected release date of the new Z Fold 4. The Galaxy Z Fold’s previous two generations debuted in late summer/early autumn, with the Z Fold 3 launching in August and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 arriving in September last year. Assume that Samsung would like to avoid a hypothetical mid-September debut date to avoid competing for attention with iPhone 14. We’d anticipate a similar launch date for the Z Fold 4 towards the end of this month or early September.

That’s precisely what leaker Jon Prosser claims, claiming that the Z Fold 4 would be released on August 10. Pre-orders are likely to commence on the same day and continue until the official date of August 26.

The next Fold may go by a new name when it does appear. In certain European countries, Samsung is marketing the newest phone like the Galaxy Fold 3 — an apparent response to Russian authorities using the letter Z as a sign in favor of their invasion of Ukraine.

Price speculativeness of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

According to one rumor about the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which comes from Korean leaker yeux1122 on Korean website Naver, and another from Ross Young, the phone would be cheaper. Considering the Z Fold 3’s $1,799 price tag, it would be extremely welcome news.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be available in 2020 for $1,999, suggesting that after decreasing by $200 in one year, there will be A $400 reduction in two years to $1,599 for the Z Fold 4. It would still be significantly more costly than even the latest fully-specced one plus 7 phones, but as the price difference narrows, more phone customers will be enticed to choose a foldable.

Cameras:

Cameras: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

The most recent camera speculation for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 would include a 50MP primary sensor and a 3x optical viewfinder on the telephoto camera. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has three 12MP lenses and 2x optical zoom. These weren’t bad performers, but they seemed underpowered for a $1,799 phone.

So, if this leak is accurate, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will likely have a substantial jump in camera technology and the same camera arrangement as the Galaxy S22. Compared to prior Samsung phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 was the first to have the company’s first under-display sensor on the primary display. According to a Korean leaker. The Z Fold 4 might expand on it by adding an extra under-display camera to the cover display.

However, because the under-display lens was one of the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s weak aspects, adding another one isn’t ideal until Samsung works to enhance it. And that’s precisely what the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected to deliver, with a suite of under-screen camera enhancements, including a 16MP sensor up from a pitiful 4MP.

Performance and Battery:

The only rumor we know about the Z Fold 4’s power source is a nasty one. According to the source, Samsung will keep the battery about the same size as the Galaxy Z Fold 3. According to Yogesh Brar and Ice Universe leaks, the new model will include a 4,400 mAh battery. The same as last year’s power pack.

One of the most inconvenient parts of foldable smartphones is that they’ll need to power a larger screen. But have a battery that is the same size, or often less, than comparable phones. The battery life on the Z Fold 3 isn’t great, but assuming Samsung doesn’t change the battery capacity.

Unfortunately, the charging speed may not be increased to compensate for this since leaked regulatory filings disclose the same 25W charging rate as the Z Fold 3.

According to leaker Ice Universe, the upcoming foldable’s CPU might be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. That would offer a significant performance boost over the previous generation and a slight advantage over the Galaxy S22 series.

Recently, claimed benchmarks again for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 have surfaced. A device presumed to be the Galaxy Z Fold 4 scored 1,351.

Design: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

Design: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

The latest Ice Universe leak claims that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will feature a less noticeable crease. This is later supported by claimed photographs comparing it to the Z Fold 3. Furthermore, the weight is expected to be 8.9 ounces. That would be significantly lighter than the 9.5-ounce Z Fold 3 and closer to the 8.5-ounce iPhone 13 Pro Max.

OnLeaks and Smartprix have also provided a batch of Galaxy Z Fold 4 renders. These show the alleged phone from nearly every aspect, as well as disclosing quite a few facts about the foldable – provided that they’re accurate. According to the same sources, the screens will be 6.2 inches (outside) and 7.6 inches (inside), much like the Z Fold 3. Both are also likely to keep their 120 Hz refresh rates.

Finally, the leakers estimate the phone’s entire dimensions when unfurled to be 6.1 x 5.1 x 0.27 inches. This would make it somewhat shorter but broader and heavier than its predecessors. For example, according to a post on the Korean blogging site Naver, Samsung is researching methods to lower the phone’s weight by revising the hinge and increasing the waterproofing & dust proofing. A phone that is lighter and less prone to water & dust harm sounds excellent.

Similarly, leaker Anthony, who goes by the Twitter handle, claims that Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a single hinge in the center of the handset rather than the two utilized by the Galaxy Z Fold 3. This would allow for a slimmer and cheaper design while also increasing the durability of the Z Fold 4.

Is it worthwhile to get the Samsung Z fold?

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the most excellent folding phone ever, with a more robust build, S Pen compatibility, and even greater multitasking functions. The pen requires a cover to store, and the cameras have not been updated. But the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is an excellent choice for hardcore users.

Conclusion

With the first Galaxy Fold, Samsung was among the first manufacturers to join the foldable industry in 2019. It wasn’t the most flashy entrance, and there were many catastrophic display failures. But the Galaxy Fold range has evolved amazingly well. With few rivals and few fragile foldable on the market at the time. With its Galaxy Fold series, Samsung took on the mission of establishing a whole new class of blockbusters and has developed what is termed a “unique sort of smartphone.”
