The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 feels both familiar and unique, and in the nicest possible way. It has the appearance of a Galaxy Watch, but it is sharper and more advanced. The software functions similarly to Tizen, however, the new Google Wear OS platform is more functional and exact.

For its current range, Samsung dropped the ‘Active’ name in favor of a sporty-looking Galaxy Watch 4 . As the company’s main product, as well as a ‘Classic’ version that retains the elegant features of last year’s Samsung Galaxy Watch 3.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has a 3-in-1 health sensor for detecting heart rate, collecting ECGs, and measuring body composition. It’s the first mainstream wristwatch to have bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA).

Design of Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 in all models includes a new frame that allows for a smooth transition from the smartwatch body to the straps. As opposed to the single projecting circular crown accompanied by a flush side button.

Despite these slight differences, the Galaxy Watch 4 maintains compatibility with prior Galaxy Watch models. The moving dial on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic serves as both a navigation tool and an amazing fidget spinner. The bezel has become as synonymous with the Samsung Galaxy Watch as the S Pen is — or was? — with the Galaxy Note smartphone.

As someone who has more recently used the Galaxy Watch 3 than the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2, switching to a capacitive version of the bezel on the basic Galaxy Watch 4 takes some time. However, without the mechanism, the smartwatch is much thinner.

 Price and availability

As of August 27, 2021, both the basic Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will be available for purchase.

The 40mm Bluetooth variant of the Galaxy Watch 4 costs $249.99, while the 40mm LTE model costs $299.99. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 42mm Bluetooth model costs $349.99, whereas the 42mm LTE model costs $399.99.

The Galaxy Watch 4 or Galaxy Watch 4 Classic are the greatest smartwatches you can buy that are just not created by Apple. This time, though, customers may choose between two distinct smartwatches.

Battery life

Battery life of Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

The battery life is disappointing, it’s far from a deal-breaker. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Watch 4 has a battery life of 40 hours when used regularly. Last year, it stated something similar, but as I explain in my comparison of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 vs. Galaxy Watch 3, with GPS, activity tracking, and the always-on display activated, I needed to charge it every 24 hours.

Daily charging is normal for most mobile devices which people use on a daily basis. Many superb smartwatches and fitness trackers can last for several days without needing to be charged. But, as long as you aren’t going into the woods for a week, So wouldn’t get too worked up over the difference between 40 hours and a day.

However, wished that the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 was more constant. But found that the watch needs to be charged more frequently than every 24 hours on some days.

Sleep and stress tracking

Sleep and stress tracking

For its latest smartwatch, Samsung boosted sleep tracking measures. Blood oxygen levels are going to check once every minute overnight on the Galaxy Watch 4, rather than once every 30 minutes on the Galaxy Watch 3. More SpO2 measurements may provide more information about sleep quality, especially for people suffering from problems such as snoring.

Usually sleep quietly, although Sometimes frequently wake up for an hour at a time in the early morning. In these cases, the Galaxy Watch 4 would record two different nights of sleep yet display the entire amount of time.

The stress app on the Galaxy Watch 4 is another healing tool that displays your stress levels. If you stay in the green zone, which indicates that the person is not overly stressed, the wristwatch still provides me with the opportunity to start a breathing session. The Fitbit Sense is more convincing when it comes to stress supervision. But it’s great to see Samsung’s watch-catching up.

 Activity tracking

 Activity tracking

The watch allows you to track specific types of movement. It went with the all-purpose circuit training option. When it comes to monitoring different sports, the Apple Watch offers a few more possibilities, while the Galaxy Watch 4 has more specialized alternative options.

However, because the preset selection isn’t wide, you’ll most likely need to add workout kinds using your smartphone’s Samsung Health app.

This speed isn’t as obvious as it would be on a smartphone or laptop. But it is significant when compared to other smartwatches. It lets you use a variety of apps when the GPS functions are active. The software on the Galaxy Watch 4 looks and functions well. And all of the apps available on the Google Play Store are right there waiting for you. This is a better option than Tizen, but it maintains all of the features that made Tizen software so popular.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is the greatest smartwatch you can buy that isn’t created by Apple. Though, consumers have an option to choose from. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is far from an improvement, with design upgrades, updated software, and a ground-breaking BIA system. The battery life should be improved, and Wear OS misses certain key features at launch. Users also hesitate to argue in favor of wrist-based body composition measurement given the number of people for whom the feature may be harmful. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic has a speaker, so you can accept calls while wearing it. Callers had no problems when They answered the calls on the watch, and the speaker volume was appropriate when held up to face.
