Robot vacuums that can mop and sweep have been around for a few years, but there’s a new type in town: Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni that offers a scouring action as part of the cleaning process, allowing them to remove both ground-in stains and surface debris.
The Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni, which boasts two rotating mop pads that provides a scouring motion of 180 rotations per minute to assist lift tough stains from hard surfaces, is the newest model to be released by the company. It can vacuum, mop, or do both at the same time. It also has a spot-clean feature for exceptionally nasty areas, making it one of the most hands-off robot vacs we’ve tried so far.
The Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni is by far the most costly robot vacuum reviewed so far, costing $1,549 / £1,499. However, when you realize that it can clean floors – cleaning them rather than merely spilling water over them – and that it is also self-cleaning. The price is justified. It’s available straight from Ecovacs or on Amazon. In Australia, it will be published in April.
Ecovacs also sells the Deebot X1 Turbo, which has a self-cleaning base but lacks the self-emptying capability for the dust canister. It costs $1,349 / £1,299 / €1,349 / €1,349 / €1,349 The Deebot X1 Plus. On the other hand, is a self-emptying sweeper and mop that can scrape at up to 600rpm but does not enable automated cleaning and drying of mopping pads. That model costs $1,149, however it is not presently available in the United Kingdom.
The Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni, like the majority of robot vacuums on the market, is circular in design and measures 4.3 x 13.6 x 13.6 inches / 10.9 x 34.5 x 34.5cm. It’s somewhat higher than some versions on the marketplace, but it had no trouble navigating under chair legs or under low-clearance furniture.

However, unlike with the iRobot Roomba J7 Plus or the Dream Bot W10, the lid here isn’t hinged. So instead of merely lifting a flap for access, you’ll have to remove the entire lid. A 2.7fl oz / 80ml water tank is also installed within the shop vac for mopping. When you flip the Deebot X1 Omni over, you’ll see a swivel wheel at the front as well as two extra wheels on either side of the device to enable the robot vacuum to navigate your home. The Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni was really simple to set up. Appreciated that basic walk instructions were placed on the base station’s lid, saving us from having to sift through the handbook. The Deebot X1 vacuumed and mopped in a methodical manner around our home. This combination also insured that the robot vacuum did not collide with any furnishings. The Deebot X1 Omni, unlike many other robot vacuums, isn’t connected with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
