How to automatically pair a new Apple Watch with your iPhone

After you’ve purchased of your Apple Watch, now it’s time to pair. it There are a few ways to pair your Watch to your iPhone, depending on your conveniences. The first is to pair it automatically.

  1. Launch the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. (You can also bring your Apple Watch near your iPhone to bring up an interface, which will then launch the Apple Watch app.)
  2. Tap Start Pairing.
  3. Move your phone over your Apple Watch until your Apple Watch is lined up in the center of the yellow rectangle.
  4. After you’ve completed the step you’ll see a message that says, “Your Apple Watch Is Paired.”
  5. Choose whether to set up your Watch from scratch or to restore Watch from a backup.

How to manually pair Apple Watch with iPhone

If you aren’t able to pair your Apple Watch automatically, you can manually pair your iPhone and Watch. Instead of using the nifty QR-code-style process, you’ll use your Watch’s name to start the pairing process.

  1. Launch the Watch app on your iPhone. (You can also bring your Watch near your iPhone to bring up an interface, which will then launch the Watch app.)
  2. Tap Start Pairing.
  3. Tap Pair Apple Watch Manually
  4. On your Apple Watch, tap i to view the device’s name.
  5. On your iPhone, select your Apple Watch from the list.
  6. Choose whether to set up your Watch from scratch or to restore Watch from a backup.

How to set up or restore your Apple Watch from a backup

Once you’ve paired your Watch to your iPhone, now it’s time to set it up from scratch or from an existing backup. Here’s how;

How to set up an Apple Watch from scratch

It doesn’t matter whether this is your first Watch or you don’t want to carry over old data, it’s just simple to set up your smartwatch from scratch.

1. Tap Set Up as New Apple Watch, after the pairing process is complete.

2. Tap either Left or Right to tell your Watch on which wrist you plan to wear it.

3. Tap Agree to agree to the watchOS Terms and Conditions.

4. Tap Agree to confirm.

5. Set up Activation Lock and Find My iPhone by entering your Apple ID.

6. Tap OK to indicate you understand Shared Settings for iPhone and Watch.

7. Tap Create a Passcode to create a passcode for Watch.

8. Tap to create a four-digit passcode on your watch.

9. Enter your passcode once more to confirm.

10. If you have an Apple Watch with LTE service, choose whether to Set Up Cellular on your Watch.

11. Set up Apple Pay or set it up later. You may need to enter your card security code or the entire number, depending on which card you’re adding.

12. On your iPhone, tap Continue to indicate you understand Emergency SOS.

13. Tap Install All to install all of the available watchOS apps on your iPhone.

14. Allow your Apple Watch to sync with your iPhone. When it’s finished syncing, your Watch is ready! While you wait, you can view basic navigation tips on your watch, labeled “Apple Watch Basics.”

How to restore Apple Watch from a backup

1. Tap the Restore from Backup button after the pairing process is complete.

2. Choose the relevant backup.

3. Accept the terms and conditions.

4. Set up Activation Lock and Find My iPhone by entering your Apple ID.

5. Tap OK to indicate you understand Shared Settings for iPhone and Watch.

6. Tap Create a Passcode to create a passcode for Watch.

7. Tap to create a four-digit passcode on your Watch.

8. Enter your passcode once more to confirm.

9. If you have an Apple Watch with LTE service and you haven’t set it up yet (or canceled your plan), you may be prompted to Set Up Cellular on your Watch.

10. On your iPhone, tap Continue to indicate you understand Emergency SOS.

11. Set up Apple Pay or set it up later. You may need to enter your card security code or the entire number, depending on which card you’re adding.

12. Your Watch will now begin restoring from backup.

How to turn on your Watch?

Turning on your Watch is a simple step, but it can sometimes be a little hard to remember exactly how to do it. You’ll have to press down the button on the right hand side of your smartwatch until you see the Apple logo.

This button is below the rotating crown, and you’ll have to hold the button for a few moments before you can see that it’s turning on.

After a few moments, you’ll see your current watch face boot up. How long that’ll take will depend on the model of the watch and also many other factors, but it shouldn’t take more than 30 seconds. You may be prompted to unlock your Watch if you have a passcode.
