The HP Envy 34 All-in-One is ideal for anybody looking for a powerful all-in-one PC that is simple to set up and use. Thanks to its ultra-wide 5K screen, fast Core i7 CPU, and Nvidia RTX 3600 GPU, it’s excellent for work, pleasure, and creative activities. This AIO offers all the utility you might want, despite its lack of style.

In this HP Envy 34 review, I’ll go over the features, how it performs as a gaming PC, and how it feels to use this all-in-one for regular computing activities. As it is, this is an AIO I’d suggest to the vast majority of people, including those who are devoted to iMacs. I’d even go so far as to say that the HP Envy 34 may be an iMac killer. That’s why it made our list of the best all-in-one PCs. Continue reading to learn why.

HP Envy 34: Price and availability

On HP’s website, the HP Envy 34 has a starting price of $1,999. An Intel Core i5-11400 processor, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. And Windows 11 Home is included in this setup. The $4,988 setup comes with an Intel Core i9-11900 processor, 128GB of RAM, two 2TB solid-state drives, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, and Windows 11 Pro.

The 34-inch 5K (5120×2160) display is standard on all models, including extensible RAM and storage. That final functionality isn’t usually associated with AIO PCs. There’s also a mouse and keyboard and an excellent 16MP attachable webcam: an Intel Core i7-11700 processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. And Windows 11 Home was included in our evaluation unit. The price of this model is $2,639.

 Design: HP Envy 34

HP Envy 34 Desktop Computer: Brilliant display and robust performance!

The HP Envy 34 features a simple design. It has a basic square stand and a cylindrical shaft that are functional. Despite the fact that the ultra-widescreen panel is huge, the AIO does not stand out and seamlessly integrates into one’s work surroundings.

The Envy 34’s screen can be tilted vertically, and its height can be adjusted. The screen may be tilted forward or downward, but not left or right. When simply raising or lowering the AIO, it slides smoothly along the shaft and stays in position after reaching the perfect height.

It’s the polar opposite of the eye-catching Alienware 34 gaming display in terms of style. The Envy 34’s simplicity, on the other hand, offers it an impression of elegance. It’s more in keeping with the MSI Modern AM271’s equally workmanlike look. The simplicity of this AIO attracted me. After all, what’s going on behind the hood counts.

The 34-inch ultra-wide display provides enough space for both work and pleasure.

One of the most brilliant displays I’ve ever seen. It’s so bright that I reduced the brightness to 50%. The screen has an average brightness of 417.2 nits, but it reaches as high as 492 nits in the center. The AM271 all-in-one monitor, with its mean brightness of 102 nits, and the Alienware 34 monitor, with its mean brightness of 230 nits, don’t come close.

The sound quality of the Bang & Olufsen twin speakers was excellent. The highs, mids, and lows are all in perfect harmony. The bass is rather powerful whether you watch Hollywood blockbusters or YouTube videos.

Ports: HP Envy 34

Ports: HP Envy 34

Whenever it comes to ports, the HP Envy 34 AIO has enough. A headphone/microphone jack, two USB-C ports, four USB-A ports, an HDMI port, and an ethernet port are all located on the rear of the machine. Two USB-A ports, a USB-C port, and an SD card reader are all located on the shaft’s right side and are all easily accessible.

Performance: HP Envy 34

Thanks to its Core i7-11700 CPU and 32GB of RAM, the HP Envy performs admirably. It never lets you down, even when if you have numerous tabs open or was downloading enormous files. The CPU, RAM, and GPU will provide enough power for these people to bring their works to life in Adobe Premiere or Photoshop.

The Envy 34 transcodes a 4K movie to 1080p in 8 minutes and 23 seconds in video encoding, which tasks the PC with converting 4K video files in Handbrake. The identical task took the 24-inch iMac 13 minutes and 38 seconds to complete. These figures are likely to make video editors happy.

Graphics and games: HP Envy 34

It is interesting to see how capable the Envy 34 was as a gaming PC because it had an Nvidia RTX 3060 laptop GPU. The HP Envy 34 is a good gaming laptop.

Whether you’re playing games in the ultrawide (21:9) aspect ratio or not can have a significant impact on frame rates. For example, in Far Cry Dawn, the Envy 34 manages 76 frames per second in 1080p mode but just 29 frames per second in ultrawide mode. Civilization VI by Sid Meier run at 80 frames per second in 1080p and 47 frames per second in 21:9. The strategy game operated at 28 frames per second on the 27-inch iMac.

Keyboard and mouse: HP Envy 34

Keyboard and mouse

A Bluetooth mouse and keyboard are included with the HP Envy AIO. Both perform well and are simple to set up.

The keyboard offers an excellent travel distance and room for your fingers to type comfortably. When pushed, the keys give a sufficient level of resistance. The mouse was quite responsive to me. It’s nothing special, but it won’t get in the way of your job. Yes, of course. You may connect or pair your own.

Camera

HP Envy 34 Desktop Computer: Brilliant display and robust performance!

The HP Envy 34 has a detachable 16MP USB camera instead of a built-in webcam. Its big sensor allows it to produce high-quality photos and video. Although webcams aren’t known for making you appear attractive. This one did an excellent job of capturing my light skin tone.

The camera is magnetically attached to the screen’s top or sides. If you wish to show anything to someone you’re video chatting with, you may also aim it downwards at your desk. Altogether, this is one of the most stunning AIO-bundled cameras.

Conclusion

Because AIO PCs aren’t as powerful as regular desktop computers, some people reject them. With the HP Envy 34, this isn’t the case. This PC is a true iMac rival. While not as attractive as Apple’s AIO, HP’s PC has a lot of power hidden behind its modest hood. You’ll have plenty of areas to work with on the 34-inch screen. With ultrawide support, it’s also ideal for movies and video games. In this regard, the HP Envy 34 is a capable gaming computer for an AIO. It won’t be able to compete with the most excellent gaming PCs.

The different configurations’ asking prices, even the entry-level $1,999 model, will undoubtedly put a hole in your pocketbook. However, I’d say that you’re getting your money’s worth with this machine, given the stunning 34-inch 5K display, powerful Intel Core CPU, Nvidia RTX 30-series GPU, and expandable RAM and storage.
