Huawei has updated its successful MateBook X Pro laptop while also unveiling the first-ever All-in-One (AIO) PC. To compete with the Apple iMac at MWC 2022, among a slew of other new devices.
It’s MateBook X Pro is a major attraction here, with a number of enhancements planned for 2022. Huawei may have perfected the process this time around.
The laptop sports a larger screen this year, at 14.2 inches, compared to the MateBook X Pro’s 13.9 inches (2021). This has resulted in it being slightly larger at 1.38kg & 15.5mm, yet it is just 5.4mm thick.
The display is still 3K, with a little higher resolution to account for greater size and a brightness of 500 nits. However, it now has a 90Hz refresh rate for a smoother experience. As well as 25x greater calibration accuracy and 100% better color fidelity.
It has the largest screen-to-body ratio of any flagship laptop in the industry, according to Huawei. Unlike last year’s MateBook 14s, the webcam is housed within the 6mm bezel. Rather than being positioned awkwardly on the keyboard.
With the help of certain infrared sensors, the webcam supports Windows Hello facial recognition login. The fingerprint scanner can also be found on the power button.
The charging power has been increased from 65W to 90W, and Huawei claims that the Super Charge feature can provide 3 hours of use from a 15-minute charge.
This MateBook X Pro for 2022 has a new chassis that allows for 60% more ventilation and 100% greater heat dissipation. Because Huawei has upgraded its TDP system from 15W to 30W for better performance, the triple air intake & dual shark fin fan system will be required.
For a spatial sound impact, the design includes six speakers in a ‘back to back design with sound field reconstruction’ technology.
In addition, a redesigned trackpad with an infinity pool design that extends all the way to the laptop’s edge offers new free touch creative motions. You can use this to regulate volume and brightness, as well as snap screenshots with a double knuckle touch.
The newest X Pro includes Windows 11 as well as Huawei’s new Super Device feature. If you own others, you can use a drag-and-drop icon system to swiftly group them together for easy collaboration. The Super Device feature supports the new MateStation X (below), MateBook E, MatePad Paper, & MatePad.
The new X Pro’s only flaw is that it uses 11th-generation Intel processors up to Core i7. Rather than the latest 12th-generation Alder Lake offerings. You’ll have to rely here on integrated Xe Graphics because there’s no discrete graphics card.
The only other disadvantage of perfection is its cost. The MateBook X Pro with only an i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage costs €1,899 (about $2,150/£1,600).
Huawei has launched its first All-in-One PC, the MateStation X, and its first laser printer, the PixLab X1, alongside the MateBook X Pro. This indicates that the corporation put itself to compete with Apple’s iMac and also Windows rivals like Acer, Lenovo, Dell, & HP.
The MateStation X reveal last year, so this isn’t breaking news, but its debut at MWC signals a European release.
The AIO construct on a 28.2in 4K touchscreen with a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio and a P3 color gamut range of 98 percent. “Effortless hinge architecture for one-finger adjustment” is there in the elegant design, which weighs around 9kg.
It has an AMD Ryzen 5000 series processor (5 5600H or 7 5800H) and up to 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD in terms of features.
It comes with a keyboard and mouse and, like the MateView monitor. The last year includes Huawei Share for multi-screen collaboration.
All of this costs €2,199 (about $2,500/£1,850) with a R7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 1TB storage.
Huawei has also upgraded its tablet lineup, with the MateBook E. A new convertible Windows laptop, and the MatePad Paper, an e-ink tablet that runs Huawei’s Android-inspired HarmonyOS.
Huawei began its MWC hardware announcements with the Matebook X Pro 2022 and Matebook E, two new Windows 11 notebooks. The former is the brand’s new flagship ultraportable notebook. While the Matebook E is a small 2-in-1 that runs full Windows 11.
