Wireless audio is now available on the Nintendo Switch, which usually needs gamers to link via the headphone socket. Nintendo incorporated Bluetooth technology in an April 2021 software update, which was thought to be a setup for the lengthy Switch Pro, but it wasn’t activated until this week. Here’s how to connect your Bluetooth headphones to the Nintendo Switch if you’re ready to go wireless.
Since its first debut in 2017, the Nintendo Switch has been able to Bluetooth connectivity, which it has even utilized to connect Bluetooth controllers. However, we couldn’t utilize it with the best wireless headphones until the recent 13.0.0 upgrade. This implies that, unlike in the past, a wireless adapter is no longer required during the setup procedure. Just keep in mind that your headphones must be Switch-compatible in order to operate.
Unfortunately, the Switch’s Bluetooth audio has significant limits, which the gadget will notify you about. Only two wireless controllers may be linked to the console once the capability is enabled. If you wish to connect extra controllers, you must disable Bluetooth audio. While connected, you can’t find missing controllers or alter grip/order in the Controllers menu.
The Switch only supports one Bluetooth audio device at a time, but you can save up to ten devices on the console. Bluetooth audio will not function with local wireless multiplayer since Nintendo has a mobile app that controls all conversation features, and Bluetooth mics are not supported.
We can now link our favorite suitable wireless headphones straight to the Switch, Switch Lite, or Switch OLED even without an adapter, thanks to the 13.0.0 update. Here’s how to go about it.
Bluetooth audio will be enabled on your Switch after you upgrade it to version 13.0.0 or higher. Your first step should be to connect a pair of headphones or earbuds. This may be done with the Switch docked or portable. Select the System Settings gear icon from the home screen, then scroll down & select Bluetooth Audio.
You may now set your Bluetooth device into pairing mode. This will vary depending on your device, however many truly wireless earbuds need you to simply take them from the case. Other headsets may need you to hold down a pairing button.
Select Pair Device on the Switch display while the headset is in pairing mode. The interface will search for nearby devices and show those that it finds. If your headphones are visible, press the icon and then OK to connect them.
If your Switch cannot locate your headphones or earbuds, hit the Y key on the controller again. You may also need to re-enter the headset into pairing mode.
You are now free of the cord and dongle. If you’re experiencing trouble syncing your headphones, they may not be compatible with the Switch. However, an adaptor may still enable them to use the console.
First, ensure that your headset is fully charged and switched on. This is something that we all check from time to time. If you can link your headset to another gadget but not to your Switch, it is possible that it is incompatible with your console. If you have any doubts, contact the adapter’s manufacturer to walk you through the pairing procedure.
That’s all there is to it. You may now use Bluetooth headphones to play your Nintendo Switch. You won’t have to worry about a cord dangling between you and your Switch, and you won’t annoy anyone by forcing them to listen to your gaming soundtrack.
