We’ve seen a few Ben Q Mobiuz displays now, even though they’ve impressed us in general but they’ve also fallen short in a few places. This EX3210R has a curved 32-inch screen with a UHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and a 165Hz refresh rate, supporting specs that indicate it shouldn’t have any major flaws.
The huge brownish speaker grille on the front of the EX3210R includes Benq Mobiuz’s iconic, wacky orange design accents. The latter is equally unattractive, concealing two 2-watt speakers and a 5-watt sub. These can produce strong bass so they can reach quite loud without distorting or losing fidelity in the top, bottom, or center frequencies.
Four small RGB strips are located on the back of the device. Each of which may display a single color or pulse in a number of patterns as if that weren’t enough, the robust stand also allows for 10cm of height adjustment. 15 degrees of pivoting in each direction, and a -5 to +15 degree tilt.
A two-port USB hub that can be utilized as a KVM switch is also available. When working from home and need to switch between, say, a work laptop and your personal PC. All you have to do is change a single USB cable and your peripherals will all work. A small infrared remote provides quick, responsive access to all of the monitor’s settings – which we used.
Design of Benq Mobiuz
A few wires, a stand, a remote with a battery, and the monitor itself are included in the box. It only took a few seconds to set up the monitor; all you have to do now is assemble the stand and attach it to the back of the display. The DP or HDMI cable can then be connected to the back. After plugging in the power adapter, press the power button on the remote to turn it on. On to the construction, which is rather conventional for a gaming monitor the plastic makes up the majority of the monitor, mount, and stand.
The Mobiuz features a silverback and a black front, with silver legs on the bottom and orange accents on the black stand. There’s also a hole on the bottom of the mount that can be utilized for cable management. You can easily change the monitor’s height, tilt it up and down, and swivel it gently to either side. The bezels on the other three sides are almost imperceptible, with the exception of the large chin on the bottom. In the event that the remote is not available, the monitor’s chin has dual 2.5W speakers and physical buttons beneath it. On the back, there are four LED strips that may be customized using the remote.
Ports ,Cords and Connections
Two HDMI 2.0 connectors, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-B port, and two USB 3.0 Type-A ports are all located on the rear of the monitor. They have put all of the cords in the box, so you won’t have to go out and buy any. When the USB Type-B cable is plugged in, the two USB Type-A ports can be used to connect peripherals to the display directly. The clever switch feature on the Mobiuz EX3210R allows you to apply different monitor settings to different ports. When you change the input source, this allows you to automatically switch to a setting.
Performance and Features of Benq Mobiuz
On the Mobiuz, BenQ has gone with a VA panel rather than the conventional IPS panel we’ve come to expect. However, the viewing angles (178 degrees) were excellent, and the 1000R curvature provided a truly immersive experience. The Mobiuz’s VA panel has a 1440p resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and a contrast ratio of up to 2500:1, which is much higher than the rated 1000:1 ratio. The display also has Display HDR 400 certification and 90 percent DCI-P3 coverage, which improves picture quality even more. With an average brightness of 300 nits and a peak brightness of 400 nits, it’s reasonable to say the display is bright enough.
Moving on to the gaming features of the display, you get a beautiful 165Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time right away. If your system can hit such high frame rates at QHD resolution, the high resolution combined with the 165Hz refresh rate means you can still enjoy fast-paced games at high frame rates while preserving outstanding aesthetics. On the Mobiuz EX3210R, I tested games including Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Battlefield V, Doom Eternal, Halo Infinite, and Overwatch. All of the games were smooth to play, with crisp graphics, brilliant colors, and good image clarity.
The display also supports AMD Free Sync Premium Pro, although it does not support Nvidia G-Sync. On the Xbox Series X, I also played FIFA 21, Dirt 5, and Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, among other games. Returning to BenQ’s Mobiuz HDRi feature, which includes Game HDRi, Display HDRi, and Cinema HDRi. When we turn Game HDRi , it produces brighter, more vivid colors, although I found the colors in Display HDRi to be slightly warmer than those in Cinema HDRi.
Audio
The BenQ Mobiuz EX3210R has a 2.1 channel speaker configuration in the front-facing soundbar on the bottom of the screen, with two 2.5W speakers and a 5W subwoofer. treVolo controls the sound, and there are various audio modes to choose from, including Cinema, SPG, Pop/Live, RCG, and FPS. Whether gaming, I frequently used headphones, but I found the speakers to be extremely reliable when viewing movies, listening to podcasts, or listening to music. For a gaming monitor, the audio settings also go rather loud. Overall, these are some of the greatest speakers you’ll find on a gaming monitor, and they can easily compete with portable Bluetooth speakers in terms of sound quality.
Should you opt it?
If you’re looking for a widescreen gaming display that won’t break the budget, look no further. Ultimate gaming performance might be expensive, but the BenQ Mobiuz EX3210R’s all-around performance makes it a terrific value.
In most cases, if you’re a content creator, you won’t be looking to invest in a gaming monitor, and then there’s gaming, where the Mobiuz can’t go wrong. However, the array of Eye-Care features more than compensates for the slightly hazy text. From the assembly procedure to accessing the abundance of options via the remote, the Mobiuz is a breeze to set up.
Conclusion
So whether you’re playing fast-paced shooters or graphics-intensive RPGs, the Benq Mobiuz EX3210R can handle them all. Gaming on this monitor helped me overcome any apprehensions I had about using a VA panel on such an expensive monitor. The ergonomics, audio, features, and hardware all work together to make the Mobiuz EX3210R an easy recommendation.
