WhatsApp can now draft AI-generated responses based on your conversations

WhatsApp Introduces AI-Generated Suggested Replies and Other Features

WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform owned by Meta, is introducing a series of new features and updates aimed at enhancing user experience. This major update includes the provision of AI-generated suggested replies based on your conversations, a new method to free up space, the ability to touch up photos with Meta AI, among other enhancements. Improvements to the “Writing Help” Feature

One of the standout updates is the modification to WhatsApp’s “Writing Help” feature. Originally launched in August, this feature assists users in rephrasing, proofreading, and adjusting the tone of their messages. The latest update, according to a blog post by the company, is aimed at helping users craft their messages to perfection.

It is expected that Meta will encourage users to utilize the in-app technology for drafting messages, as opposed to external tools such as ChatGPT. However, it’s important to note that the new feature may not appeal to everyone. Some users might prefer maintaining authentic, personal conversations with their friends and family rather than resorting to AI-generated messages. Despite this, Meta assures that all chats remain private, even when users employ the Writing Help feature.

To use the feature, users need to tap the chat bar, select the stickers icon in the typing field, and then tap the pencil with sparkledust icon, which represents the AI feature.

Freeing Up Space and Touching Up Photos

Another significant update is the ability for WhatsApp to assist users in locating and deleting large files directly within any chat. This will allow users to remove unnecessary items without having to delete entire conversations. For example, users can opt to clear only media files from a chat, while preserving the chat history.

Additionally, WhatsApp is introducing the ability for users to use Meta AI to touch up photos directly within a chat. This feature will enable users to remove distracting elements in an image, change its background, or apply a new style.

Additional Updates and Availability

WhatsApp is now also offering the option to move chat history from iOS to Android, and vice versa. Users can even move their chat history within the same platform. Moreover, iOS users can now simultaneously log in to two WhatsApp accounts, a feature that Android users have already been enjoying.

Stickers on WhatsApp are also receiving an upgrade. WhatsApp will now suggest specific stickers to users as they type emojis, giving them the option to replace an emoji with a corresponding sticker.

WhatsApp has confirmed that these new features are currently being rolled out and will soon be available to all users.
