Immersive Workforce Development Initiative: Bridging Students to STEM Careers
The Center of Science and Industry (COSI), a prominent science museum and research center located in central Ohio, has initiated an innovative workforce development program titled HIVE (Human Innovation Experience). This initiative is designed to offer students nationwide an enriched understanding of career opportunities in fields such as aerospace, advanced manufacturing, engineering, and emerging technologies. With a substantial $550,000 investment from Boeing, the program commenced with 250 eighth-graders from Liberty Middle School in Ohio and is set to expand to 20 cities over the next two years.
Connecting Education, Industry, and Community
HIVE is a collaborative effort that unites educational, industrial, and community stakeholders to help students uncover in-demand career paths through a comprehensive, multi-tiered experience. It begins with a day-long event featuring interactive career discovery stations, as outlined in a COSI news release.
