Oslo-based Cloudgeni raises €858,000 to create trusted AI agents for secure cloud infrastructure

Cloudgeni Secures €858,000 in Funding to Expand AI-Powered Cloud Infrastructure Solutions

Cloudgeni, an innovative startup based in Oslo, has successfully raised €858,000 ($1 million) to further its expansion in the Nordic region and the United States. The company, known for developing AI agents that securely manage and operate cloud infrastructure, has captured the attention of prominent Nordic investors.

Investment Backed by Leading Nordic Investors

The recent funding round was supported by a consortium of Nordic investors, including the byFounders Angel Collective, which is affiliated with the Nordic venture capital firm byFounders. Additional support came from Norwegian venture capital firms Startuplab and Antler, as well as individual investors such as Vegard Gullaksen Veiteberg, CEO of tablet manufacturer Remarkable, and Danish angel investor Nicolaj Højer Nielsen.

Strategic Growth and Expansion Plans

Co-founder and COO Julia Petryshyn Thuen expressed excitement about the investment, stating, “We are pleased to have experienced and knowledgeable investors to support our next phase of growth. With the product now validated in our home market, we are focusing on our expansion in the Nordics and the United States, where we recently secured our first paying customer.”

Revolutionizing Cloud Infrastructure with AI

Cloudgeni was founded in 2024 by Julia Petryshyn Thuen and Davlet Dzhakishev. The company specializes in AI for Cloud Infrastructure, offering an AI-powered platform that automatically detects, remediates, and certifies the security, compliance, and configuration status of cloud infrastructures through highly deterministic workflows.

Cloud misconfigurations account for 99% of cloud security failures, and the costs associated with managing governance are rising. Cloudgeni aims to address these challenges by preventing potential issues, resolving existing ones, and providing continuous proof without increasing DevSecOps overhead.

Harnessing AI to Enhance Cloud Operations

The company employs a DevOps approach to automate tasks traditionally requiring manual intervention in system operations. According to CEO Davlet Dzhakishev, “Increasingly complex cloud environments have made it more demanding to ensure stable operations without extensive manual monitoring. We believe AI will move from being a support tool to playing an active role in operating systems.”

Dzhakishev further explained, “Our AI agents build and operate cloud infrastructure. They are designed in a way that makes adoption of the agent safe and reliable for the system owner.”

Gaining Trust and Planning for Future Growth

Cloudgeni has already earned the trust of significant Norwegian companies, such as industrial group Hydro and shipping company Havila. Additionally, the company has formed a partnership with IBM, which is expected to bolster its capabilities. Looking ahead, Cloudgeni plans to expand its team to support its growth trajectory.
