In many emerging markets, voice remains the primary channel for customer interaction. However, existing voice AI solutions often falter in these regions due to unreliable connectivity, fragmented telephony systems, and inadequate handling of local speech patterns. These challenges frequently result in solutions that are more costly and less effective than human agents. AethexAI aims to address these issues by redesigning the voice stack to better suit these environments.
The company’s innovative platform offers a self-hosted, localized model infrastructure, trained with proprietary data. Founders with Deep Industry Experience

This realization drove them to leave their previous roles and commit to developing AethexAI full-time, creating a voice infrastructure tailored to the specific needs of emerging markets.
Innovation with the Kora 1 Voice Model Stack
At the heart of AethexAI’s platform is Kora 1, a proprietary voice model stack. This technology is trained on licensed datasets from call centers, radio, and content platforms, and is specifically designed to handle noisy environments, diverse accents, and multiple languages. The platform also includes a developer interface, allowing third parties to create voice applications using a single API.
According to co-founder Mariama Diallo, existing tools have consistently failed to meet the demands of these markets. “We kept hearing the same thing from our customers: that existing tools simply didn’t work in their environments. That’s why we built our own model stack and infrastructure from the ground up, designed for how these markets actually work,” she explains.

The recent funding will support the expansion of enterprise deployments, growth of engineering and commercialization teams, and enhancement of product coverage in key regional markets. AethexAI plans to double its current team of 10 employees by the end of 2026, further solidifying its presence in Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.
