Nothing opens its first retail store in India

Nothing, a Prominent Hardware Company, Opens its First Retail Store in India

The globally recognized hardware company, Nothing, has recently ventured into the retail market in India. This step is a significant milestone for the company as India boasts the largest user base for Nothing’s products. The company’s first physical retail store has been set up in Bengaluru, a city where a significant proportion of its users reside. You can find more details about this development Here.

Experience the World of Nothing in a Two-Story Store

Nothing’s first retail store in Bengaluru is an impressive two-story location, offering visitors an immersive experience of the company’s products. The store will not only display Nothing’s diverse range of products but also showcase other projects associated with the brand. Customers can buy hardware products, select merchandise, and even customize certain items, thereby providing a comprehensive touch and feel experience.

Speaking about the concept of the store, Carl Pei, the co-founder and CEO of Nothing, said “We wanted to create a fun space. It’s kind of inspired by all the parts that are related to the brand. For instance, the factory: If you buy a product, there’s like a production line where the product comes out. We also show machines where phones go through testing, like USB port testing or water resistance testing. So we just wanted to bring that world together.”

Featuring Products from Nothing and Its Budget Brand, CMF

The store will house products from both Nothing and its budget brand, CMF. CMF was spun off by Nothing last year and is headquartered in India. The brand operates as a joint venture with a local Indian ODM (original design manufacturer), Optiemus.

Pei emphasized the difference between the two brands in terms of product offerings and target audience. Nothing is positioned as a niche brand with a higher price point, while CMF targets the mass market with affordable, carefully crafted products.

India: A Strong Market for Nothing

According to the research firm IDC, India is currently Nothing’s strongest market, commanding over 2% of the smartphone market share. In Q2 2025, Nothing was recognized as the fastest-growing brand in India, with an impressive 85% growth in shipments year-over-year.

Aspirational Retail Stores by Other Hardware Makers in India

Nothing is not the only hardware company to establish a physical presence in India. Other brands, such as Apple, are also setting up aspirational retail stores in various parts of the country. For instance, Apple is slated to open its sixth store in Borivali, a Mumbai suburb, this month.

Expansion Plans of Nothing

The Bengaluru store marks Nothing’s first retail venture outside London, where the company is headquartered. The company has plans to extend its retail footprint to Tokyo and New York, although the timelines for these openings are not yet disclosed.

Nothing’s Funding and Valuation

Nothing secured $200 million in Series C funding at a $1.3 billion valuation last year. The funding round was led by Tiger Global, with participation from other investors such as GV, Highland Europe, EQT, Latitude, I2BF, and Tapestry. To date, Nothing has raised a total of $450 million.
