Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook: Budgetable and high-performance Chromebook!

Share

Lenovo’s Flex 5 Chromebook is priced at $424.99 and comes with quick performance. It has a bright display and an always-clicky Lenovo keyboard. With these capabilities at such a low price, the Flex 5 Chromebook has more to like than hate.

The bespeckled deep blue complements the Flex 5, adding a little flair to its simplistic style. With the touch display and 360-degree hinge for tablet vibes, the Flex 5 transforms into a lightweight, user-friendly computer that’s a good option for folks on a budget who need someone to get emails and work done in Google Docs.

Pricing and Configurations

The Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook costs $549.99 and features a 13-inch IPS touchscreen, an 11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4 CPU with intel Hd UHD graphics, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD for storage.

The base model costs $424.99 and has an Intel Celeron 5205U CPU, integrated Intel Idea, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of product that fulfills storage.

Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook  Security

When you’re done with video conversations, there’s a webcam shutter to ensure security, and despite searching every inch of the machine, there’s no fingerprint scanner to speak of. However, using an Android phone to unlock my PC has become a new favorite of mine. I definitely need to utilize a fingerprint scan or face recognition to unlock my phone. You can open the Flex 5 from there, so it’s quite secure. Keep in mind to press the lock key on the top right hand of the keyboard if you’re getting up and leaving the Flex 5.

Design

Firstly, Lenovo’s Flex 5 looks good, with an aluminum top in Shadow Blue, a matching solid-feeling plastic body, and a nearly bezel-less display. Its 360-degree hinge lets you turn it into tent mode for viewing media or fold it flat to use as a tablet, giving it a business casual meets contortionist vibe.

When you open the cover, the fittings provide excellent resistance and feel solid in all situations. Lenovo is well-known for its superb keyboards, and the lighted Chiclet-style keypad above the touchpad is everywhere. The absence of a fingerprint scanner on the item surprised me; since it has a touchscreen, it should come with a stylus. That’s my view, especially with such a terrific hinge that allows you to use this device as a tablet.

The Flex 5 is not the smallest system in our Chromebooks group, measuring 12.20 x 8.4 x 0.67 inches and weighing 2.9 pounds. The Asus CX 9 was the lightest Chromebook, weighing 2.5 pounds and measuring 12.7 x 8.1 x 0.7 inches. The HP Chromebook x 2 weighed 2.6 pounds and was sized 9.54 x.46 x 0.3-inches, making it our smallest Chromebook. It was followed by the Acer Chromebook 7, which measured 14.4 x 9.8 x 0.7-inches and weighed 3.8 pounds.

Ports

The Flex 5 comes with good connectors for connecting your favorite accessories to your Chromebook. On the right, you’ll find a USB Type-C connector and a Kensington lock.

A microSD card reader, a 3.5 combo audio connector, a USB Type-A port, and another USB Type-C port may be found on the left.

Audio

The Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook is a budget-friendly laptop, not a boom box, but it holds its own, producing good clean music with hints of depth. You could easily hear it while sitting in the garden and across a little studio apartment.

When You listened to Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B’s “Dinero,” there wasn’t much bass. Although, the mid-range tones dominated the tune, making DJ Khalid’s soul-grinding call-outs even more irritating. For a better audio experience, I highly recommend using headphones.

Performance

The Lenovo Flex 5’s performance is rapid, with near-instant boot times, thanks to an 11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4 CPU, 8GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD, and merged Intel UHD Graphics running the lightweight Chrome OS. 30 Google Chrome tabs open and five 1080p movies playing, the Flex 5 had no problems. You can work on Google Docs documents without seeing any lag or sputtering performance.

Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook battery life

The battery in every Chromebook Flex 5 configuration is 51 watt-hours. This resulted in a battery life of eight hours and 22 minutes in the CrXPRT 2 battery benchmark, an average for a Chromebook.

Real-world battery life fell short of expectations. Regular use, which includes surfing online pages, watching YouTube and editing documents in Google Docs, Sheets, and Microsoft Office web applications, the Flex 5 lasted six to seven hours.

Moreover, the battery performance of the Flex 5 is excellent for the price. Most laptops under $400 have a lower battery. And, in some cases, a more prominent display, resulting in even less fantastic endurance. Do you require actual all-day portability? Spend extra money or get an iPad.

Conclusion

The Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5 is a fantastic mid-range Chromebook with a good display, good speakers, a full keyboard, and adaptable connections. Its speed and battery life fall short of expectations, but that’s understandable given the 2-in-1’s $389 price tag. The Flex 5 didn’t exceed the expectations but makes it an easy recommendation for customers on a $400 budget.

The Lenovo Flex 5 provides energetic performance and would be an excellent laptop for most young students or clients looking for a low-cost solution. Lastly, It’s stylish, robust, and capable of meeting most non-power users’ basic everyday demands.
