Gamma adds AI image generation tools in bid to take on Canva and Adobe

Gamma Launches New Image-Generation Product, Gamma Imagine

Gamma, an AI powered platform that aids in the creation of presentations and websites, has announced the launch of a new image-generation product that will provide a competitive edge against graphic design giants such as Canva and Adobe. The new product named Gamma Imagine, will offer users the ability to create brand-specific assets through text prompts. These assets can range from interactive charts and visualizations to marketing collateral, social graphics, and infographics. Gamma currently provides over 100 templates that can be utilized with the AI tools to build the required assets. You can read the full launch details Here.

Integration with Data-Driven Asset Generation Tools

Gamma has ensured that its new product comes equipped with data-driven asset generation features. To power these features, Gamma has integrated with tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Make, Zapier, Atlassian, n8n, and Superhuman Go. These tools will enhance the functionality of Gamma Imagine and provide users with a comprehensive solution for their graphic design needs.

A New Set of Tools for Gamma Users

Gamma’s CEO and co-founder, Grant Lee, explained the motivation behind the development of Gamma Imagine. He said, “As we started working with a lot of our early users, we realized that in the presentations they want to create, there was a variety of graphical design use cases that they all also had.” The company then worked with these users to develop a new set of tools that would allow them to go beyond the traditional presentation format.

Filling the Gap in the Market

Lee believes that Gamma can strike a balance between professional tools like Adobe or Figma, and legacy tools like Microsoft PowerPoint. He said, “We think we can serve the very long tail of knowledge workers and business professionals whose demand for their job is to communicate visually, but they don’t have the tools. They need to pull in a design resource to be able to help with this stuff, and we want to make an AI-native approach that serves their needs in the sort of middle that we feel is really underserved.”

Gamma’s Growth and Future Plans

Last November, Gamma raised $68 million in a Series B round led by a16z, at a valuation of $2.1 billion. At that time, the company reported an ARR of $100 million and had 70 million users. Now, the company is approaching a user base of 100 million. With the launch of Gamma Imagine, the company aims to expand its user base and provide a comprehensive and easy-to-use solution for all graphic design needs.

Techcrunch Event

Keep an eye out for Gamma’s presence at the upcoming TechCrunch event in San Francisco, CA, scheduled from October 13-15, 2026. The event will provide a platform for Gamma to showcase its products and innovations.
