Realme typically operates in the lower-priced, more affordable phone market, but with the GT 2 Pro, the firm is dabbling in the premium arena, and this real flagship gadget is a strong first try.

While it doesn’t have every feature you might desire in a phone, the necessities shine bright enough that the £700 / $750 / roughly AU$1,100 price tag feels affordable. Cutting competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 and iPhone 13, the Realme GT 2 Pro can hold its own against the heavyweights.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor’s snappy pace means you get a quick and relatively clean User experience. On the 1440p panel with refresh rates ranging from 1 to 120Hz, gaming, downloading, and surfing all appear great. The 6.7-inch 2K WQHD+ display is also rather bright, with a maximum brightness of 1,400 nits when required.

Unfortunately, there is no wireless charging here, but the 5,000mAh batteries in the Realme GT 2 Pro is rather enough. With fast charging technology, you’ll be up to 100% in just 30 minutes.

Facial recognition and a fingerprint reader embedded into the touchscreen are both handy features that operate swiftly and successfully nine times out of ten.

Price and availability

Realme GT 2 Pro

The Realme GT 2 Pro costs $750 / £700 / about AU$1,100, depending on where you live. It’s available via Realme as well as a variety of third-party shops.

The phone is available in three color combinations: Steel Black, Paper Green, and Paper White. Steel Black lacks the paper-like texture found in the other two colors. You have the option of 128GB or 256GB of storage.

Design of Realme GT 2 Pro

display

The Realme GT 2 Pro features a large display but is still tiny enough to fit in the palm of a smaller hand. The phone is very conventional in dimension, measuring 163.2 x 74.7 x 8.2 mm. The GT2 Pro, at 189g, is also not very heavy.

The pastel green is light and delicate, and the rough surface on the phone’s back feels a little like paper, making the grip pleasant. As previously said, the Steel Black option lacks the textured back, while the Paper White type appears to stain a little too quickly.

Off to the side on the back of the device is a triple-camera system with a rectangle setup. Next to that area is Fukasawa’s signature, which we believe the phone could do without but may give the phone a luxury sense depending on the person.

The selfie camera lens lies inconspicuously in the upper left corner of the display in the front. The typical volume rocker and physical buttons combo surround the borders, while the SIM card slot and a USB-C connector are located at the bottom. Don’t expect a headphone jack either.

The fingerprint reader is the most appealing aspect of the Realme GT 2 Pro‘s design. It’s embedded within the display so you can get to it quickly.

What are the drawbacks? You won’t want to use the Realme GT 2 Pro near water since it lacks an IP rating, and you won’t be able to charge it with a Qi-charging pad.

Display

Realme GT 2 Pro

The display of the Realme GT 2 Pro is, as expected, of excellent quality. The 2K screen looks excellent because of its high resolution. It has a peak brightness of 1,400 nits and LTPO 2.0 technology, which allows it to switch between refresh rates.

The ability to go up to 120Hz refresh rate provides silky-smooth performance, even while playing a fast-paced game of Call of Duty Mobile.

Whether you’re watching or browsing under a cloudy or brilliant, bright sky, the Realme GT 2 Pro display looks fantastic. The display is crisp and colorful, as one would expect from an OLED panel.

Cameras of Realme GT 2 Pro

On the surface, the lenses on the Realme GT 2 Pro phone appear to be quite typical. On the rear of the phone, there are three lenses: the primary 50MP lens, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 3MP 40x tiny lens. A 32MP selfie camera is located on the front of the device.

What distinguishes the GT 2 Pro is how those lenses are used. The ultra-wide-angle lens snaps at 150 degrees, and the resulting photographs look amazing, catching a lot of detail. You may be lacking a telescopic lens, but you’ll wind up capturing a lot of wide-angle images.

Likewise, the 40x tiny camera is the lens you didn’t know you needed. With a little experience, you’ll find yourself photographing all kinds of materials and objects simply to see how they seem when you can actually zoom in on them.

In most cases, you’ll stick with the primary 50MP camera, although it’s good to show off every now and again. You have a variety of alternatives at your disposal, along with a starry mode, street photography, a 50MP mode, and a competent night mode. Colors are generally realistic and brilliant, and photos are detailed. The only noticeable flaw is that the digital zoom is rather weak. Images captured in this mode have a grainy appearance.

Specifications and performance

The Realme GT 2 Pro phone works admirably.

However, all you really have to know about the Realme GT 2 Pro is that it is quick. Loading Call of Duty Mobile was quick, and basic phone use made multitasking a joy.

Regardless of how you want to use it, this is a quick phone.

The Realme GT 2 Pro ships with Android 12 pre-installed, as well as the Realme UI overlay. A few applications, like Tik Tok, LinkedIn, and other social networking apps, are already installed, but overall, it’s very clean and bloat-free. The Realme GT 2 Pro is the phone to have if you want a pretty clean Android experience.

Battery life of Realme GT 2 Pro

Realme GT 2 Pro

The Realme GT 2 Pro phone boasts a 5,000mAh battery and a slew of features that give it long battery life. That mileage may vary based on what you do during the day, but this is a smartphone that will last, even on a busy day.

When you do have to recharge, Realme’s 65W SuperDart Charging allows you to go back up to 100% in just 30 minutes. However, the lack of wireless charging functionality is a disappointment.

Conclusion

The Realme GT 2 Pro phone is the firm’s first attempt at real flagship performance, and it’s rather good. While there are some flaws, the phone is loaded with strength and appealing capabilities at an affordable price.
