It’s reasonable to believe that electronics and water don’t get along, but in recent years, the concept of a phone plunging into a body of water isn’t always a death sentence. and they all have introduced waterproof phones. Manufacturers have been looking for ways to make their goods more impervious to dirt, shocks, severe temperatures, and dampness for years GoPro cameras were created out of this necessity and there are now proven processes that assist ensure such technology is more durable.
More modern phones, particularly those from the flagship category, have benefited from internal design tweaks and upgrades that make them more durable without compromising their dimensions or appearances.
You may note that Apple is at the top of this list, but we assure you that this is not due to brand preference. While the Android phones below all have IP68 certification, Apple has gone above and beyond the iPhone 13, 12, and 11 models.
The iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max, like 2020’s foursome, have the same industry-leading water resistance; certified against up to six meters (19.7 feet) of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.
All four devices have class-leading performance as well as excellent cameras. The iPhone 13 Pro (and 13 Pro Max) also include ProMotion technology for the first time on an iPhone and a super-smooth 120Hz variable refresh frequency in the range.

The iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max extended Apple’s already superb water resistance to new heights, with ratings of up to six meters (19.7 feet) of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.
The basic iPhone 12 is our favorite of the bunch since it’s not just a good step forward from the iPhone 11, but it also doesn’t give up much in comparison to the more expensive iPhone 12 Pro.
The iPhone 5-inspired design, Super Retina XDR OLED display, Apple’s A14 Bionic CPU, and Dolby Vision HDR video recording highlights.

While not nearly as submersible as its 2020 and 2021 counterparts, the iPhone 11 Proline ranks third on our list, due to resistance in up to 13 feet of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.
Aside from that, while we’re not quite sold by the 11 Pro’s name, there’s no doubt that, at launch, this was the greatest iPhone you could buy, and it’s still a terrific buy today, owing to Apple’s nearly unrivaled long-term software maintenance.
We prefer the matte coating since it is more grippy than regular glass and helps to prevent fingerprints. The OLED screen is gorgeous, especially when used with iOS’ Dark Mode, the cameras are superb, the performance is smooth, and the battery life is better than any prior iPhone generation; there’s a lot to enjoy.
Still, it’s significantly more costly than the standard iPhone 11, which includes the features that most people desire but doesn’t break any new territory. It’s not even 5G ready.

Unlike the iPhone 12 and 13, Apple tiers the amount of water protection on its 2019 iPhones. Also with the non-Pro iPhone 11 is somewhat less tough than the costlier variants.
While not as well-suited as its Pro-branded siblings, the standard iPhone 11 nevertheless has above average water resistance, working up to 6.5 feet/2 meters. To be a winner, the iPhone 11 did not need to rewrite the smartphone rule book. It only needed to expand on the popularity of the XR, which it did.
It has a good design and comes in a variety of colors. Face ID has been enhanced over the XR. Also, the telephoto lens has been replaced with a more usable wide-angle lens. The screen is still not OLED, but it provides a satisfactory experience, and performance is excellent even while playing demanding games. All of this at a lesser price than the original iPhone XR. Apple has done it again again. of pure water for 30 minutes.
As previously stated, the remainder of the devices in this range, including the Galaxy S22 series, are advertised as being able to resist the precise IP68-certification standards: immersed in fresh water for up to 30 minutes in depths of up to five feet.
That’s only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has to offer. Those who are familiar with the 2020 Note 20 Ultra will notice a striking resemblance when looking at this year’s top S22; not least since it does not like the other two phones that were released with it.
That unusual design, like the Note, also allows for an embedded S Pen stylus increasing the phone’s productivity potential. While camera technology identical to last year’s Ultra impresses with improved image quality and functionality.
A gorgeous 6.8in 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display and Samsung’s rich One UI 4.1 experience are backed up with long-term software support that rivals even Google’s Pixels.
Because both of the 2021 Pixels are very large, we’d recommend the Pro over the ordinary Pixel 6. This makes greater use of its front face with a gorgeous QHD+ curved-edge OLED that — for the first time in the series – moves to a higher 120Hz smooth refresh rate.
The more flexible camera system has an incredible dynamic range and clever new capabilities like Magic Eraser. While the new Google Tensor chip has more than enough power to handle the most demanding mobile applications and games. As well as a specialized skill set for machine learning and AI activities. A massive 5003mAh battery provides some of the finest battery capacity on a Pixel ever. Also even if fast charging is a bit of a shambles.
Waterproof phones are becoming ubiquitous, providing peace of mind if you drop your gadget in standing water. They used to be awful. But they’ve evolved into elegant devices that can withstand spills and even be submerged without issue. And several of the top smartphones on the market right now have some level of water resistance. With a water-resistant phone, you can take photographs at the pool or use your phone in the rain without worrying about it becoming wet. Look for an IP67 or IP68 classification both indicate that the gadget can tolerate being immersed in water for 30 minutes at varying depths.
