Samsung Gears Up for Galaxy Unpacked Event

On Tuesday, Samsung announced its next Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled to take place on February 25 in San Francisco. The tech giant is expected to unveil its Galaxy 26 series of smartphones during the event. The invite insinuates that the upcoming phones are designed to simplify everyday interactions, inspire confidence and to seamlessly integrate Galaxy AI right from the moment it’s in hand. The official announcement can be found here.

Anticipated Features of the Galaxy S26 Series

Samsung has hinted at various intriguing features in the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. One of the key features being anticipated is a privacy display, expected to make its debut in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This unique feature will allow users to conceal specific sections of the screen to protect sensitive information. For instance, users could hide the notification area from prying eyes.

Performance and Battery Life

Reports indicate that the top phone in the line, likely the Galaxy S26 Ultra, will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 processor in the U.S. and China. However, in other regions, Samsung may opt for its proprietary Exynos 2600 processor. Although Snapdragon processors have historically outperformed Samsung’s Exynos chips in benchmarks and thermal efficiency, the performance gap has been steadily decreasing.

According to a report from tech site SamMobile, the S26 will also feature a robust 5,100 mAh (milliamp-hour, a standard unit of battery capacity) battery. It’s expected to support 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging, potentially offering an excellent battery life to cater to the needs of heavy users.

Additional Releases

Alongside the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is likely to launch its updated Galaxy Buds 4 wireless earbuds. The design of these earbuds is expected to be a departure from the previous generation, which bore a striking resemblance to Apple’s AirPods.

Event Details

The event is slated to commence at 10 a.m. PT/ 1 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. CET. Tech enthusiasts worldwide can catch the event live on Samsung’s official website and its YouTube channel.

Exciting Pre-registration Offers

Samsung is incentivizing interest in its upcoming devices by offering a $30 promotional credit to anyone who pre-registers. The credit could be used as a discount toward other Samsung products, even if the registrants do not purchase the new devices. Furthermore, if you pre-register and then preorder one of the devices, Samsung will increase the credit to $150, with no trade-in required.
