Global Semiconductor Shortage Impacting Sony’s Supply Chain
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we are currently facing a challenging operating environment. The global semiconductor shortage, along with other factors, is impacting our production capacities. This situation is expected to affect the supply of our CFexpress memory cards and SD memory cards for an unforeseen period. The global scarcity of semiconductors, a critical component in memory cards, is affecting industries worldwide, not just Sony. This situation has resulted in demand exceeding supply, causing disruptions in our usual operations.
Temporary Suspension of Memory Card Orders
As a result of these challenging circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend accepting orders from our authorized resellers and Sony Store customers, starting March 27, 2026. This decision has been taken to ensure fairness and maintain the quality of our products and services during these trying times.
