Exploring the Latest Gboard Update: Emoji Size Customization
Google’s Gboard continues to evolve as it integrates new features that cater to user preferences and enhance the overall typing experience. Recently, the Pixel 11 series has introduced an intriguing addition: the Gboard’s new “Emoji size” setting, which is currently available to beta users.
Understanding the Emoji Size Setting
To customize emoji size, users need to navigate to Settings > Preferences > Appearance, where they will find a new slider located beneath the Font size option. This slider allows users to “Set the size and number of emoji shown in a row,” with a convenient preview displayed just above the control.
The default setting displays nine emojis in a row, with the option to reduce this number to as few as five. On a Pixel 10 Pro device, the increments available are 9, 8, 8+, 7, 7+, 6, and 5. The ‘plus’ options in the middle slightly increase emoji size while maintaining density.

Testing the Changes
To fully explore these adjustments, users should visit the Emoji page, although it is important to note that this setting does not apply to the Emoji Kitchen row at the top.
This update is designed to help users appreciate the intricate details in Google’s updated emoji design. The feature is currently available with the beta version 18.0.3.x of Gboard.
