Huawei Watch Fit 2 Review-Fantastic design and multiple workout modes!

Share

The Huawei Watch Fit 2 is an improvement over the first generation model. It gives the watch extra functionality, expanding its potential usage beyond fitness tracking.

Due to competition from other manufacturers that offer third-party applications and contactless payment, which the Huawei Watch Fit 2 does not, Huawei’s pricing for this watch is odd. Despite this, the Huawei Watch Fit 2 is still a fantastic option because of its many sensors, attractive design, and various workout modes. Simply said, it is no longer a cheap alternative as you might expect.

It is a little more expensive than the Fitbit Charge 5 and the recently released Huawei Band 7, but it is also a little less expensive than Huawei’s Watch GT 3 Pro and Watch GT Runner. It costs about the same as the Polar Pacer, mainly used for running. Therefore, those who are more interested in light exercise or who are just beginning a Walk to 5K-type program, as well as those who want a smartwatch that serves as both a fashion accessory and exercise assistance, are better suited for the Watch Fit 2.

Design and Display

The Huawei Watch Fit 2 has many visual elements with its predecessor, including a rectangular design. A single side-mounted button and a slightly larger 1.74-inch AMOLED display than the 1.64-inch on the first edition. The display has a 336-pixel density, producing clear, crisp images.

Huawei hasn’t made many design changes; the frame is made of the same polymer material that gave the previous model’s metal a similar appearance and feels. Additionally, the bottom of the watch is made of a matte-finish polymer substance that doesn’t need any maintenance to keep clean.

The Huawei Watch Fit 2’s sensors are located directly in the center of a protrusion that, after continuous use, might irritate the skin, especially if you want a tight strap. Due to this, the Watch Fit 2 may feel a little uncomfortable during long workouts. The watch is light at just 26 grams, so wearing it for an extended period doesn’t wear you out. The bands of the Huawei Watch Fit 2 are fully replaceable. It’s clever and an upgrade over the previous design in that the straps can be taken off with only one click.

Battery Life

The Huawei Watch Fit 2 features better battery life. According to Huawei, the Watch Fit 2 battery lasts about 7 and 10 days when used lightly. These claims were verified to be genuine by all those. With continuous heart rate monitoring, continuous SpO2 tracking, and reminders for healthy living set on, the watch lasted 7 days. The early morning departure from home with only a 5 percent charge and then return at the end of the day with a 2 percent charge is a true testament to the watch’s longer battery life.

The watch charges quickly enough to go from empty to fully charged in about an hour. However, the included magnetic charger is a little weak and needs special attention while attaching because it may easily fall off. The USB Type-C charger, as with some of the other Huawei Smartwatches, would have been much preferable. You could charge up from flat in 53 minutes using a Huawei SuperCharge 22.5W mains adapter that Was saved from an earlier Huawei P20 Pro review unit. He could get from empty to 87 percent complete in that time.

Performance and Software

Huawei is improving at HarmonyOS, making it one of the top operating systems for smartwatches. Simple touch controls and a single button are available on the watch to explore menus and end apps. Pressing this button will also activate the voice assistant; more later. The system is easy to use, and the animations are smooth.

Though you cannot download third-party apps, the watch’s applications menu mirrors that of WatchOS. Additionally, there is no support for independent fitness apps, so if you like those, you’ll need to go elsewhere. This watch contains a GPS sensor and a Petal maps application. However, you can only use it to reflect the navigation on your phone while using Petal maps. Simple directions only are displayed; the entire map is not displayed. This watch has some friendly alerts, and you can respond to them instantly from your watch using emojis or short responses. Huawei still has to improve in this area by enabling customized responses.

You must download the Huawei Health app from Huawei’s own “App Gallery” store to use the watch and link it to your phone. For non-Huawei phone owners, that could seem like a challenge, but you do have the choice to download it as

Fitness and Tracking

Most of the fitness programs added by Huawei to the Watch Fit 2 focus on running, walking, cycling, and swimming. But there are also programs for cross trainers and rowing machines. Even though there isn’t a program specifically for activities like yoga or weightlifting, you may still record your exercise duration and heart rate as part of a general “other” workout routine. You’ll probably record exercises on an as-needed basis or choose from various pre-set routes, running from the straightforward “Run/Walk-Primary” to the more challenging “HIIT Run.”

The Huawei Health applications allow you to create more detailed plans for longer routines. These are straightforward to use. Additionally, it serves as a dashboard from which you can check your daily step totals and dig deeper into information like sleep data.

The Huawei Health app enables you to share the results of your efforts in the form of a JPEG. This is great for boasting on social media or in the form of GPX and KML files. Do you want to share your routes with other people on platforms that can accept these files? If you wish to use heart rate, calories burnt, and velocity elsewhere, you may also transfer this data in TCX files.

Can you answer calls on Huawei Watch Fit 2?

Your watch will show the caller’s details when an incoming call is on your phone. You may answer or reject the call using your watch. You won’t have to worry about missing any calls while away from your phone.

Is Huawei fit 2 worth it?

The Huawei Watch Fit 2 delivers outstanding value for the money. The Huawei Watch Fit 2 is worth considering if you appreciate the concept of a device that functions as a sports watch and a smartwatch yet looks like a fitness tracker.

Conclusion

The Huawei Watch Fit 2 is an attractive piece of workout equipment. Although it’s simple to use, has excellent battery life, and is reasonably priced for exercise reasons. It’s better suited to beginners than people who spend their whole lives at the gym. The Huawei Watch Fit 2 now offers a complete complement of features, turning it into a true smartwatch. But doing so comes with a cost that not all consumers may be prepared to pay.
