If you’re looking for an electric scooter for your child, the $159 Razor E100 must be at the top of your list. This is a reasonably priced scooter designed for youngsters aged 8 to 12. The E100 has a twist-grip handlebar and enough power to allow them to scoot about at speeds of up to 10 mph for roughly 40 minutes. The Razor E100 electric scooter is a terrific starter electric scooter for youngsters. It won’t survive for decades, but your children will have a great time while it does. The E100 is designed for children and features a smooth kick-start motor and a front air tire for a more comfortable ride.

The Razor E100 has a top speed of 10 mph, which is just fast enough to keep older youngsters interested without being too quick for smaller riders. See how it stacks up against other Razor electric scooters in the review below.

Price and availability

The Razor E100 is available in a variety of colors and costs $148.00 on Amazon. The Razor PowerCore E100, a newer model, features a hub-mounted engine that should provide a quieter ride.

 Design: Razor E100 electric scooter

There’s nothing new about this: The Razor E100 is a scooter with a conventional design. Despite its 22-pound weight, it boasts an all-steel structure that makes it seem sturdy. From front to back, the E100’s deck expands and folds up to cover the back wheel.  Appreciate how broad the deck is,” Chase remarks.

The right handlebar has a twist throttle and the left has a handbrake. Chase, who tried out a red E100, said the design was sleek and vibrant, and that all of his pals thought it was “awesome.” A steel cage houses the scooter’s two 12-Volt lead-acid batteries beneath the deck. The power button and recharging connector are likewise located down here.

The E100’s front tube doesn’t really fold down for transporting or storage, unlike many other scooters. “The controls are simple to operate. “The scooter could roll up and fit inside my father’s vehicle,” Chase explained. The absence of reflectors or even other safety measures is of greater concern. While don’t anticipate a scooter at this price to feature helmet or tail lights. To see the front and rear reflectors as well as a warning bell. These characteristics are normal on bicycles, and they should be on scooters as well.

The E100 features a 100-Watt motor that is chained to the rear wheel, making it much noisier than scooters with motors that are directly attached to the back wheel. The Razor PowerCore E100 should be quieter due to its hub-mounted motor.

 Performance: Razor E100 electric scooter

The controls should be well-placed, allowing him to brake or accelerate swiftly while riding. Even when speeding down a slope, the E100’s handbrake, which links to the front wheel, was powerful enough to bring it to a swift halt. However, the scooter’s lack of cushioning made it difficult to ride over bumps on the street and on sidewalks.

Unfortunately, the E100 was a noisy scooter due to the engine, hard composite wheels, and lack of suspension. Whether it was because of the noise or because of the obstinacy, The E100’s two 12-Volt batteries are expected to last 30 to 45 minutes of uninterrupted riding, according to Razor; Chase was able to obtain around 60 and 80 minutes in practice.

The Razor E100 is a smooth and enjoyable ride for younger children who are eager to try out an electric scooter. It rolls more smoothly with a front air tire than the E90 with a polyurethane front tire, but not as smoothly as the E200 with a front and rear air tire. We like the extra safety of a kick-start motor, which requires a youngster to push off and travel at a speed of 3 mph before it starts. This facilitates a smooth start.

Because electric scooters contain motors and huge batteries, they are more costly than ordinary scooters. But keep in mind that they’re still toys, and Razor isn’t a high-end brand. One thing we noticed about certain riders, particularly younger ones, is that they are easily distracted. They don’t always appear to realize they’re traveling at great speeds since they’re not exerting any physical exertion to move the scooter.

How fast is the Razor E100 scooter go?

The E100 is a pleasant and safe introduction to the world of electric scooters, with a top speed of under 10 mph and a maximum ride length of 40 minutes. Although it’s fast enough to make parents worried and excite small children, a child riding a conventional kicking scooter like the Razor A5 Lux can really go faster than a child riding an E100 electric scooter! In fact, the youngsters in our area often have races and enjoy working up a sweat to defeat a machine.

As a parent, you’re the guardian of what maximum speed is safe for your child. More aggressive riders may become bored fast as they watch other neighborhood youngsters zoom past on an E200 (12 mph) or E300 (15 mph).

How fast does the E100 accelerate?

To sustain speed, the E100 twist grip pedal must be held in position and then released. When a rider has to stop quickly, the hand brake can be used. On the E100, there are no actual variable speeds; you can only drive to maximum speed, retain it, and descend to zero.

Conclusion

The Razor E100 is a reasonably priced, competent, and trustworthy electric scooter for youngsters. Because it’s a little noisy. Recommend the PowerCore E100, which costs more but does have a hub-mounted motor. If you want something a little more stylish, the Razor Power A2 has a comparable range but is powered by a lithium-ion battery, resulting in a smaller deck. It also unfolds, making storage a breeze. It is, however, around $50 more costly. The absence of reflectors, a bell, or a horn is our main gripe with the E100, as it is with other Razor scooters under $200. Recommend purchasing these as add-ons if you purchase this scooter. Aside from that, the Razor E100’s main issue will be getting your child off of it.
