iOS 27.3 Expands StandBy Features to More iPhone Models
Apple is set to broaden the reach of its innovative StandBy features in the upcoming iOS 27.3 update. Initially introduced with the iPhone Duo, these features will now be available across all iPhone models compatible with the update. This move is expected to enhance user experience by offering convenient information access while devices are charging.
StandBy mode makes it easier to view information at a glance while your iPhone is placed on a charger and in a landscape position. It effectively turns an iPhone into a bedside clock with some extra details. On the iPhone Duo, StandBy also works when the device is folded like a book or a tent, even when it is not charging.
New StandBy Features and Customizations
The updated StandBy mode will be available for iPhone 11 and newer models, providing users with a range of customization options. The enhancements include:
- Updated versions of the Analog and Digital Clock faces with more options to customize the color and complications on them.
- An updated Photos face that lets users pick Shared Albums.
- New faces, including Calendar and Weather.
- The ability to create multiple versions of each type of face and swipe between them.
These additions aim to provide users with a more personalized and interactive experience, enhancing the utility of iPhones as they charge.
Other Notable Features in iOS 27.3
In addition to StandBy enhancements, iOS 27.3 will introduce several other features. Users can look forward to vertical tabs in Safari, a reimagined Health app, and the activation of certain Apple Intelligence features in China. Such improvements underline Apple’s commitment to continuous innovation and user-centric design.
