Inside, you’ll find a plate, switches, a silicone layer, a PCB with rubber feet, your choice of soundproofing layer, and the case.
Switch Compatibility and Design
Switch compatibility is typically a limitation for analog keyboards, but the 60HE v2 excels here, outperforming competitors like Keychron, Razer, and ROG, which usually support only two or three options. Utilizing the widely adopted KS-20 design, the 60HE v2 works with switches from Gateron, Geon, and several other manufacturers, providing an ever-expanding range of choices for users.
However, the keyboard sticks to the standard GH60 form factor, placing the USB-C port on the left side of the PCB. While some may prefer a centrally located port on a separate daughterboard for convenience and repairability, this standardization benefits both consumers and manufacturers.
Overall, the Wooting 60HE v2 impresses with its sturdy build quality, smooth and consistent switches, and extensive customization options. Despite the absence of wireless connectivity, it offers everything a gamer could desire.
