Huawei has launched the Huawei Watch GT 3 smartwatch. The Huawei Watch GT 3 has similar specifications as the Watch 3. The Huawei Watch GT 3 comes in two sizes: 42 mm and 46 mm. The 42mm variant has a 1.32-inch display, while the 46mm version boasts a 1.43-inch display. The watch comes pre-installed with various dials and more than 100 workout modes. It also features dual-band GPS L1 and L5, skin temperature detection, TruSeen 5.0+ heart rate monitoring technology, and water resistance up to 5 Mtr.
Huawei today announced the Watch GT 3 Pro, its latest addition to the HarmonyOS ecosystem. The new smartwatches, which come in two editions: Titanium and Ceramic, will compete with companies like Apple and Samsung through luxury materials and a catalog of fitness regimes and health monitoring technologies. More specifically, the Huawei Watch GT3 Pro Cena Award aims to be the best smartwatch for freediving and underwater activities.

Design
Although the GT series has always been for users of an active lifestyle and fitness, the GT 3 Pro series (especially the Ceramic edition) looks more like a luxury watch than anything else. Ever since I tried the Titanium and Ceramic models, exercise has definitely been the last thing I’ve thought of. The watch is heavy, the Titanium model weighs 54 g and the Ceramic model 50 g, not counting the weight of the three-piece interconnected watch straps with which the two were supplied. For fitness, I would prefer a lighter material that is breathable and flexible enough to fit my skin when warmed up. Fortunately, Huawei offers plenty of fitness straps – including nylon and fluoroelastomer.
Software
Since I’m in the US, testing the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro meant that I had to upload the Huawei AppGallery app to my Android device, download the Huawei Health app from there, and then finally be able to scan the QR code on the watch and pair it. The process was lengthy, unintuitive, and understandable. Fortunately, after the initial setup, connecting to the watch was as easy as turning on my phone’s Bluetooth and waiting for both devices to sync.
Once paired, the navigation in the HarmonyOS watch software is very straightforward. Swipe down from the home screen to see quick switches, such as Settings, Screen On, Alarm Clock Find My Phone. There is also a Drain, a handy vibrating and sound beacon that aims to shake off any water that seeps into the watch. It’s the perfect companion for your next swim.
