Doctronic Partners with Simple HealthKit to Revolutionize At-Home Health Screenings
AI startup Doctronic is partnering with Simple HealthKit, an at-home health screening platform, to offer consumers comprehensive diagnostic screening with integrated virtual clinical care.
Innovative Collaboration for At-Home Testing
Simple HealthKit provides an at-home health testing service that allows consumers to privately collect samples such as blood, urine, or saliva and send them to a certified laboratory. The company has a growing portfolio of home screening programs for diabetes, chronic kidney disease, colorectal cancer, cervical cancer, sexually transmitted infections, and other preventive health conditions.
With home screening kits available directly through its website and retail partners, Simple HealthKit also collaborates with health plans, providers, and public health programs to expand accessibility. “Through this partnership [with Doctronic] we will initially focus on the conditions where we can have the greatest immediate impact with our national health plan and retail partnerships, and plan to expand our broader portfolio over time. Our vision is to make quality healthcare accessible to everyone,” said Sheena Menezes, Ph.D., co-founder and CEO of Simple HealthKit, to Fierce Healthcare.
AI-Powered Clinical Care
Doctronic stands out as the first AI system legally approved to practice medicine in the United States. The startup offers a free personal AI doctor via chatbot to help manage symptoms and answer medical questions, connecting users with licensed doctors through virtual visits. Doctronic is available in all 50 states and is being tested as part of a pilot program by the state of Utah for prescription refills.
Adam Oskowitz, MD, co-CEO and co-founder of Doctronic, explained how the partnership works: Patients purchase the Simple HealthKit test and are then referred to Doctronic based on test results. “Once they arrive, the AI will already know the test results and guide the patient through the medical exam with that knowledge,” he said.
Seamless Patient Experience
Upon receiving screening test results, patients with positive results are referred back to Doctronic for timely clinical follow-up. The collaboration aims to create a continuous, cohesive care experience powered by AI, clinical oversight, and collective intelligence, with a patient-centered focus.
“Partnering with Doctronic means that when a patient receives a result, they have immediate access to an AI health assistant for questions and a comprehensive consultation with a real doctor about care. That is the promise of what we are building together,” commented Menezes.
Doctronic’s Simple HealthKit addresses a significant gap in digital health: bridging the space between suspecting a health issue and receiving treatment, noted Oskowitz. “Together we are building the infrastructure for a new type of healthcare,” he emphasized.
The partnership will track the AI’s ability to correctly assess patient presentations and suggest appropriate next steps. “Since all patients are examined by a human doctor after the AI consultation, we can then compare the human recommendation with the AI,” Oskowitz added.
Addressing Healthcare System Challenges
Menezes highlighted the healthcare system’s historical isolation and lack of continuity, saying, “Too many people fall between recognizing a health problem, getting the exam, and getting the treatment they need. Together, we are creating a connected journey that reflects the innovation and changing consumer expectations that shape healthcare today.”
According to HRSA data, over 108 million Americans live in areas lacking basic healthcare, representing about 27 to 30 percent of the total U.S. population. The integration of Simple HealthKit with Doctronic helps close these access gaps, emphasized Menezes.
The partnership comes as both companies are rapidly growing, with Doctronic serving more than 300,000 unique weekly users and becoming the first AI-native platform authorized to autonomously renew prescriptions in the U.S. Simple HealthKit is expanding its partnerships with nationwide health insurers, pharmaceutical companies, governments, and health systems.
The Future of Healthcare
AI-powered clinical care services continue to grow as companies use AI chatbots for symptom checking, triage, and navigation. Menezes claims that the collaboration with Doctronic “is not just a partnership. It is a new blueprint for healthcare.”
“For the first time, AI-powered health advice, Simple HealthKit’s AI-native engagement platform, at-home screening, and clinical follow-up care come together in one seamless experience. Instead of asking patients to navigate a fragmented healthcare system, we are building one that is with them every step of the way. We believe this is the future of healthcare, where technology doesn’t replace care but makes care more accessible, connected and human,” she said.
