As Apple has announced its new lineup, they will discontinue their last year’s Pro models, i.e., iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Due to discontinuation, these models will be available at meager prices at various third-party stores. So if one plans to dive into iPhone 13 Pro models, they must know what it will offer and what it lacks compared to the latest Pro models. So to clear your doubts, here we compare iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 13 Pro to know the difference between the two.
Apple has launched its new iPhone lineup, which includes iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. As iPhone 14 doesn’t get as many changes as its predecessor, all eyes are on its Pro version. Last year Apple provided a 120 Hz display and a telephoto camera in its Pro versions, which is also present in the latest iPhone 14 Pro with various new features, which we will discuss in this comparison.

Price
Apple has kept the pricing of the iPhone 14 lineup similar to the iPhone 13 lineup. However, in the UK, it is costlier than the last year due to inflation. As we have discussed earlier that due to the introduction of the iPhone 14 Pro (Pro Max), Apple can discontinue iPhone 13 Pro (Pro Max).
The latest iPhone 14 Pro will be available at $999 in the US, while in the UK, its starting price will be £1,099. So due to the launch of new iPhones, the price of last year’s iPhone will fall and will be available at low prices from third-party dealers. If price is the factor for you, then you can grab iPhone 13 Pro as Apple promises to give updates for about 5 to 6 years. However, iPhone 14 Pro offers much more than iPhone 13 Pro.

Design

As we look from the back, the design is similar: stainless steel body, matte glass, and flat surface with a triple camera. However, as Apple now provides a 48MP primary sensor, which we will discuss in the camera section, it gives more bump to the lenses than iPhone 13 Pro. The main and the most formidable change is in front. Apple had at last broken up with their old notch display (Although just for Pro versions) and has introduced a never seen pill-shaped cutout which they call Dynamic Island.
This Dynamic Island also takes much space but comparatively less than the old notch. It acts like an interactive panel that changes size according to the notification or alert you receive on your iPhone. This pill-shaped cutout includes the front camera and the Face ID scanner, the same as iPhone 13 Pro, in a unique style.
In iPhone 14 lineup, too, you’ll get a lightning port charger with the possibility of changing it to USB from 2023 due to some lawsuits in the EU and the US. Also, there’s no sim tray available now as Apple is focusing on eSims.
Display

This time Apple has kept bezels smaller as compared to its previous iPhones. So despite getting the same display size of 6.1″ inches for your iPhone 14 Pro, you will get extra screen space than iPhone 13 Pro. This year iPhone Pro models get the same upgrades given to iPhone 13 Pro models with a new touch. Last year Apple provided a 120 Hz screen to its Pro models, which in iPhone 14 Pro can go up to 1 Hz for better battery performance.
Moreover, in Pro models this year, Apple has introduced the most demanding feature, i.e., Always on Display which looks quite remarkable with the screen that Apple provides. Also, with the support of iOS 16, one can now set up multiple lock screens with their wallpaper, widgets, and more.
Apple has also claimed that its display will go up to the highest 2000 nits of brightness in its 14 Pro models, which is way too high than the 1200 nits highest brightness in Apple iPhone 13 Pro models. It’s impressive as one can use their handset in challenging bright light.
Camera

In iPhone 14 Pro vs. Iphone 13 Pro comparison, the next thing to talk about is their camera.
For quite some time, Apple provided its 12 MP camera in iPhones, which now changed with the introduction of a 48 MP camera in the iPhone 14 Pro. As discussed earlier, the camera design of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro is similar. The only difference seen is the little more bump lenses thanks to the 48 MP camera sensor.
In iPhone 13 Pro, Apple provided three 12 MP cameras, i.e., a wide primary camera sensor to take the best low light pictures and videos by using sensor-shift image stabilization, an ultra-wide camera sensor to take a bigger picture, and one telephoto sensor, which provides 3x optical zoom.
Similarly, in iPhone 14 Pro, Apple has three cameras with a massive change to its primary sensor, which is now a 48 MP camera that will help users take raw 48 MP photos with the use of ProRaw shooting mode. Besides the primary sensor, ultra-wide and telephoto cameras get minor updates despite using the same 12 MP lens. iPhone 14 Pro can now record at 24 fps and 4k in cinematic mode. Regarding the front camera, iPhone 14 Pro has a wider f/1.9 aperture and more enhanced autofocus to get better depth in selfies and improve your conference time.
